Hi all, just thought I'd drop by with an update. I am now IA clear - I was back at the dentist on thursday and now have the thin wire retainer fixed to the front six teeth, its amazing, you can't really feel it at all unless you run your tongue along the back of it and when you are brushing your tee...

Hiya Mareikem, if you read back in the forum you will see that I had the EXACT same experience as you. The first three days were a complete nightmare, the pain was terrible, I was counting down the minutes before I could take more painkillers, I couldn't eat, taking it out and in was absolutely horr...

Hi all, just thought I'd drop you an update on my IA. I've had it now for five weeks in total, been wearing it pretty much all of the time, give or take a couple of hours a day. Just been back to the dentist this afternoon and he has taken the impressions for the thin wire to be fitted at the back t...

Delighted doesn't even come close to how I feel - after some random "drunk" prat telling me one night that he understood why I didn't smile - I think he actually did me a favour as it pushed me into getting something done - but he was still a prat :?

Hiya, yeah after I go back next week, he'll take impressions (carefully!!) and then a thin wire will be fixed to the back of my teeth to stop them migrating again - oooh the excitement of the dentist eh!!! Once I figure out the photo thingie, I'll post some photos and scare you all at how bad they w...

Hey Buzz, Your photos do come up if you paste the link into your browser - the results are brilliant!!! How long did you have yours in? I've had mine for 3 weeks so far and visited my dentist yesterday and was astonished to hear that I'm almost done, mine was to close a gap in my two front teeth whi...

Hiya, normally you would have to be recommended for one by your dentist. He would then take impressions from your teeth and then it is normally about 3 weeks before you actually get the IA. Once it is ready, your dentist may have to "file" your teeth slightly for the IA to fit and start wo...

Hi all, I'm now nearly two weeks into my IA and I can honestly say I'm astonished at the results already, I had a humungus gap between my front teeth and they protruded out the way as well which pushed my top lip out. Now the gap has almost closed and I can certainly feel my lip has gone back. As fo...

Hiya, good to hear from you. I've not been bothered about grinding at night (or at least I don't think so) but I do seem to "rest" my tongue on the wire behind my front teeth - which can hurt sometimes! I'm the same in that now that there doesn't seem to be any pain - I get slightly worrie...

 sounds like we are - I see John Booth at Craigentinny - how weird is that. I'm glad that "ache" subsides - its not unbearable and I work from home so don't have to speak much during the day so it's all good - I get a bit worried that I've not got it in right but having a good look in...

Hi there, well yesterday finally came :D and I got my IA. Quite a mouthful to get used to although not as big/bulky as I thought it was going to be. Managed to sleep fine, although "slavered" quite a bit  It is quite painful this morning, teeth really aching quite a lot. The aim for m...

Inman aligner

Hi there, I'm a newbie to this site and having been reading with delight the responses to the inman aligner and am astonished at the photos of the results. I'm due to have my aligner fitted on 22 April and am so, so, so excited about it. I've had a gap in my front two teeth for a long time now due t...
