dark circles can be from underbite/ small airway
Hi Willow- In response to your question re: dark under eye circles--- I went to one of the most prominent jaw surgeons in the country- and during my consultation he said that the dark circles under my eyes were due to a restricted airway due to a recessed lower jaw. He estimated that about a year af...

I am on unemployment and had my surgery in June. I recommend filing your weekly claims as usual. You don't really need to go on disibility for this surgery--that is a long and complicated process from what I have read. It is better to continue to search for jobs over the internet etc as you recover ...

B- you look great! Ryan- an estimate of 37k is just towards surgical fee, anesthesia is an additional in 3100 or 7000 billed to insurance depending on if the anesthesiologist is an in-network provider or not. Hospital is an additional 7-15k or so...but billed to insurance. The numbers are really dau...

airway
B- My guess is that by week 3 you'll start really noticing the enlarged airway. 80% of the swelling will be gone by week three according to G's people---which means you have only two weeks to go! G said dark circles disappear completely in a year. Check out this guys orthognathic surgery blogs on my...

bands
So did G put screws in your mouth (the gum part) to connect those bands or are they tied to your braces? I have been anticipating the Frankenstein screws in my mouth b/c I think that is their standard treatment at the CFCJS...but not really sure what to expect. What are you eating, drinking anyway??...

PS My surgery is authorized by my HMO
but I had to fight like a ninja to get to there! I think it is really important that there is someone in your OS's office who can help you navigate your insurance company, approval is so important and it all hangs on a few key phrases that your doctor needs to provide.

inschmurance
I recommend watching "Sicko" by Michael Moore to any US citizen undergoing jaw surgery and having to deal with their HMO. Yeah, it's a bunch of red commie socialist propaganda but there is a whole lot of truth in it as to how poorly the our medical system treats its patients as far as cove...

Hey B- You look great, considering all you've been through--- I'm sure G-man has done an amazing job. Is breathing/ sleeping getting easier, I hope? G actually told me I have the smallest airway (5 something) he has ever seen which means I have constant shiners from lack of 02 and don't get enough R...

Hey there fellow Juners--- I'm going under the knife on June 3rd (the day after yours, Blind) for an upper and lower jaw surgery.
