Clear Retainers Question

Hi All, I hope someone can help me. I had my braces removed last week and am now wearing a clear retainer on top and bottom. I'm supposed to wear the retainer 24 hours a day for the first 3 months, taking out only to eat etc., but it's so incredibly hard to talk with them in that I take them out for...

I have ceramic braces on my upper and lower teeth and my ortho has commented on how fast my teeth have aligned. I had severe over crowding before I got my braces on in April, and now 6 months later my teeth are all aligned and I can start working on correcting my open bite! But, like someone else po...

I had this slenderizing treatment done on my 2nd or 3rd ortho visit. It's completely safe and doesn't take away much of the enamel or tooth. I had it done on my bottom tooth to allow for a little more space there. It was quick and painless, besides a little vibrating which was over in seconds I can ...

Ok I take it no one knows what bioforce wires do... Instead of creating a new post I'll just ask another question I have here. I'm 5 months in to my treatment. My teeth which were very overcrowded on the top have all aligned now and some gaps need to be closed. My ortho said that my alignment proces...

Bioforce wire - what does it do?

Hi Everyone,

I just had an adjustment this morning and I had my top archwire changed to a thick bioforce wire. I'm not sure exactly what this type of wire is supposed to do so if anyone can share some insight that would be great.

Thanks!

Thanks classII. Glad to know I'm not the only one experiencing this. It certainly does feel like some damage is being done, my jaw feels like a creaky door and makes a terrible noise when I try to eat! Hopefully it'll go soon...

Jaw discomfort

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has experienced and jaw discomfort since they got their braces on? I had my 3rd adjustment on Monday, been wearing my braces for 4 months now, and since my last adjustment my jaw sort of makes a squeaking noise when I try to chew. It's not necessarily painful, just...

Some teeth longer than others

Hi everyone, I know this question has probably come up before but I sort of need to vent too so apologies in advance! I've had my braces for 3 months now and I'm due my next adjustment on Tuesday where I will bring this up with my ortho but for now... So in the beginning I had a lot of overcrowding,...

Pulling teeth forward with elastic

Hi, I had my second adjustment today and the ortho tied a piece of elastic to each of the brackets on my lateral incisors and then secured this tightly to the archwire. These 2 teeth aren't attached to the archwire yet and he wants to pull them into the gaps created using the spring coils. I was jus...

Slimey!

Ok this is sort of a weird question but has does anybody else feel like they're teeth are slimey since they got braces on? I've read on these boards that people feel like their teeth are slimey when they get their braces off but mine feel like that now. Like it seems that whenever a gap opens open I...

I had a clear wire for my first month of treatment, it really is quite unnoticeable but towards the end of the month the cream coating on the wire started to chip and the metal wire underneath started to show and I thought it looked tacky.

Thanks markGI - good to know someone else went thru the same arrangement as me! The loose tooth isn't connected to the wire yet, it has a bracket but the coils are creating space so it can move forward which it seems to be donig. It's not as loose today so no more panicking!

Hi Raychno21, welcome to the board! Sorry to hear you've been having such a hard time with your braces, I've only had mine for a month now and it's getting better. when I first got my braces (I have ceramic upper and lower) someone here recommended this braces guard thingy, it clips on to the bracke...

Thanks everyone for your replies, I really appreciate it! I think I answered my own question just a minute ago, I felt like a twitch/click in my mouth near my left lateral incisor so I prodded it with my tongue and it felt really loose. I just checked in the bathroom mirror and it definitely has mov...

Spring coil question

Hi Everyone, I had my first adjustment yesterday. I had my lighter wire on my upper teeth replaced with a thicker wire and spring coils from each of my front teeth to each canine and also from each canine to my back teeth just before my brackets. So 4 coils in total - hope that made sense! Anyway, I...
