When my braces were put on in May, the ortho said your teeth have moved a little already once the braces are fitted, but it must be minimal as i couldn't see anything. I'm now 6 weeks in and there is definately movement ... some teeth more than others... goodluck

Dear Dentaladvisor I reply, yes i have tried a mouth guard. Initially i had rubber ones and chewed right through them. Next, I had hard plastic ones, which lasted longer. But I'm afraid i stopped wearing them, as over the course of a year I had 3 crowns, which meant a new mouth guard everytime. What...

I too clench, but it doesn't always give me a stiff jaw... but I do get chronic neck pain, very similar that of whiplash where you cannot tip your head forward to put your chin on your chest or turn your head wither way. I take pain relief to manage this which works quite well. Hang on in there.... ...

I've grAnyway he has tightened my top braces (and I'm only 3 weeks in). The ligs are now replaced by white wire ties... a few teeth are abi...

Teeth Clenching

I've been braced for 3 weeks. However I become aware that I am clenching my teeth during the night. I am curious to know if this could be causing the muscles in my neck and shoulders to go into spasm? My neck is so stiff I cannot tip my head up or down and my shoulders are rigid. (this makes driving...

I've had my braces just about 3 weeks now. My first adjustment will be 6 weeks after getting them fitted. Initially he said he's see me in 8 weeks, then said 'no, make that 6'... but I;ve not had any dates for following appointements. I'm guessing we'll book one appointment ahead with the timescale ...

I've always wanted my teeth straightened, but as a teenager the thoughts of choosing to sped time with a dentist/ortho pull chills down my spine. Now I'm 39 and my 8yr old is developing the overcrowded cross bite that i have (although mine isn't that bad really). Our dentsit told him he would almost...

Hi Dave In answer to your question - not sure whether you can get irretated by wax, but maybe try a different type of wax. Sound silly, but I have a silicone type wax now, which is completely different than the furst sort of 'wax'-wax that I had. (only thing is your teeth have to be dry to get it to...

don#t knwo if 2 archwires are common, but try not to worry. Everyone will be lmaking a fuss about your bump, not worrying about whether you've got one archwire or two.... try not to let it stress you...
