Hi My mother tongue is not English and I live in the UK. Before I decided to have linguals I had the same concerns. But I´m really happy with my decision now. I have had braces for 8 and a half months. I´m not sure how long you have had braces for but try to relax, it will get better. Try to be co...

Hi dkt3 I'm also very happy with my decision. I haven't had any problems with brackets breaking. I would say the main problem for me is eating, it just takes longer and I try not to eat nuts and hard things. I don't think I have any problem with my speech and nobody knows I have braces. Even if tell...

LINGUAL V LABIAL CERAMICS
Hi I have linguals on top and labial ceramics on bottom. I wasn't sure how I was going to adapt to linguals so I decided to have ceramics on my bottom teeth as I don't show my bottom teeth when I talk or smile (maybe because I have an overbite). It took me about a week to adapt to my linguals and th...

Hi I had a similar problem. At the beginning of my treatment I couldn't have the lingual brackets on my canines but instead I had a very small bracket (different to linguals). I also had two extractions and after 3 months when my canines had moved I had the small bracket removed and lingual brackets...

Hi I still have the gap in my molars but it has improved. My lower teeth don't touch the top brackets anymore because my back molars touch although they don't fit properly. It is not that bad once you get used to it. I can eat everything although it takes longer. I even eat nuts sometimes now. It se...

OVERBITE
I have an overbite, linguals in my uppers and will have labial tooth coloured in my lowers in a couple of months until end of treatment (18 months left). My ortho gave me 2 options for my treatment: *Orthognatic sugery (jaw surgery) and braces. *2 teeth extracted and braces. The first option would c...

Hi I have had my upper linguals for 3 months. I'm really happy, I almost forget I have braces and nobody notices anything different. I also had 2 extractions, the gaps are about 4 mm now. Hopefully in 4-5 months should have closed completely. Maybe I'm too optimistic because I will have braces for 2...

Hi I will try to answer some of the questions. I have lingual braces in my upper teeth and will have ceramics in my lowers soon. Lingual: 1.How much do they cost: my ortho works with labial, lingual and invisalign. Invisalign was not an option for me but I think the price is similar to linguals (dou...

Hi I am another happy person with linguals. In my case they are ORMCOS. I would say it took me a week to adapt, mainly because I cut my tongue with the wire the first day. After the first week nobody could notice anything different and nobody at work knows I have braces. I have told some people that...

I'm very happy with my decision. Nobody notices anything different. It took me a week to adapt because the wire was hurting my tongue. But I know people with labial braces and they had problems at the beginning too. I was not using wax after 1 week. I will be able to tell the difference between ling...

I bite my fronth teeth bracket all the time while eating. During the first week I was careful with what I ate but now I can eat almost everything. It takes me longer to eat because my back teeth don't close properly.
It looks like it has to be the glue. But I have only had the braces for 4 weeks now.

Hi dkt3 Did your brackets break three times already? Was it while eating? Mine are OK after 4 weeks but the wire at the back of one side is a bit loose, I think it is not attached to the bracket of the last teeth so it moves if I touch it with my tongue. I think I might wait until my appointment nex...

Hi I have lingual braces only in the top arch (ORMCO's) and I will have labial tooth coloured in my lower in a few months time. I will be paying about £4,000 in total. Of course it depends on how long you need braces for. My ortho only works with ORMCO's and he charges for linguals twice the price ...
