I now eat just about everything that I ate pre-braces. I still can't bite directly into things unless they're really soft, but I cut everything up. Sandwiches are so annoying to cut up, but I still do it. I just can't cut everything out, I love food too much

Definitely normal. Soreness and tooth sensitivity will come and go frequently. There are days where certain teeth are way too sore to chew on.
