I think it will be better by Thursday night. I know from reading these boards that everyone has different experiences with regards to pain. I tend to feel some pain the first couple of times I remove a new tray. My teeth seem to become used to the aligner by the end of the first 24 hours. Good luck ...

I started out with a substantial overjet. I don't exactly know the measurement; however, my top arch was always much larger than my bottom arch. In my case, I have had IPR on the top front 10 teeth (between 0.2 up to 0.5 mm on each of those teeth). My top teeth have been pushed in significantly, to ...

Yes its very normal. I always have lip balm and water on hand. As time goes by you may find that your lips are not as severely dry as you are experiencing now. I found that somewhat improved for me after the first few trays.

Hi EMS, 12 weeks seems unusually long. I know from experience that the provider can easily tell if Invisalign has shipped the aligners (and what date they were shipped from Align Tech). There is some time required from the shipping date for the package to clear U.S. customs etc. Of course, the date ...

I can't think of a single person that would equate someone brushing their teeth in public with someone being weird. Its simply a good hygiene habit. I have worked in two different offices since starting Invisalign and I would say there are at least 5 or 6 daily brushers in the office bathroom after ...

Update: I went to see my ortho today and he explained that sometimes aligners with a lot of attachments (my upper has 10!) may experience a problem where small pieces of the mold used to form the aligner get stuck in the attachment "bubble". Sometimes it can be removed easily and sometimes...

Strange defect with my 12th aligner

Well, I was all set to change into aligner number 12 this evening. I had the hardest time trying to fit the upper tray onto my back left molars. I finally got them halfway up my teeth when I noticed a strange bright white colour under one of my molars. It turns out that there is a small white piece ...

Hello, Did your orthodontist give you "chewies"? I believe they are described in another post. They are basically small sticks that you can bite down on (usually starting at the back molars and working all the way around your mouth) several times per day. I find these to be very effective ...

Hi Kimnim 1, I can tell you that I have had tooth filing or shaving of almost all my top teeth- not all at once though, a few teeth at a time throughout treatment. Like you, I was completely weirded out (and actually very afraid) by the thought of it. In the end, the tooth filing wasn't a bad experi...

In regards to eating with the trays in your mouth: I am being treated by a very experienced Invisalign orthodontist. This orthodontist actually recommends eating meals with the trays in (with the caveat that the aligners be cleaned and teeth brushed immediately after eating) because chewing helps se...

I am almost halfway through my second Invisalign treatment (aligner 9 of 21) to correct a serious molar issue caused by a previous Invisalign provider- significant extrusion of the back molars. As I posted earlier in this thread, my current Invisalign treatment is supposed to push the longer molars ...

Hello, Before starting Invisalign, I used to eat 5 to 6 small meals (or snacks) per day. When I first got Invisalign, I ate the same small meals I was used to (except it was only 3 times per day) and my weight plunged six pounds in about 3 weeks! In my case, the weight loss put me into the underweig...

Hi EMS, sorry to hear that you are so unhappy with the results after wearing 24 aligners. I know how frustrating it is to be completely compliant with aligner wear and not see the desired results at the end of the process. Your post suggests that you are using a dentist as opposed to an orthodontist...
