Oh my God! Those elastics look horribly painful! I have elastics right now. Only 1 though. It goes from the inside of one of my bottom teeth to the outside on the top. I still need more kinds of elastics to finish things before I can even dream of getting my braces removed. Anyway, I hope that all g...

Things will start getting better soon. At first, it's awful. Then it starts getting better over time.

I'm in a situation similar to yours, except your teeth are much straighter than mine! Your orthodontist could, most likely, shave off a little bit of the two central incisors to make them more even with the lateral incisors.

Best of luck!

Geez, I wish I was like you people. By far, the worst pain I felt (other than the expander), was when my (first) ortho told me that he would place coils over 4 of my bottom teeth to help correct overlapping. Then at the bonding, he placed brackets on them and then said "Oops! I was supposed to ...

Regarding the expander, one of my friends had one of those. She said that it was rather complicated. She was the only one I've known that wore that kind. Elastics... there is such a tool. However, I could never figure out how to work the darned thing. So I just put the rubber bands on with my index ...

Waterpik or Hydrofloss are the two that stick out in my mind. I used a Waterpik for the 10 months that I had my palatal expander. I would still use it, but I lost it.

brackets on 12yr old molars

On Monday, I'm going to have 3 brackets replaced and 2 new ones put on. The 3 that I'm getting replaced are because they weren't placed well originally. The 2 new ones are going on my 12 year old molars on the bottom. I just had a thought, though. I have fillings on the outsides of both of my bottom...

Wisdom Teeth

I knew that it would happen eventually during my orthodontic treatment. Alongside my orthodontist, I've been under the care of an Oral Surgeon for my TMJ. My oral surgeon decided a few days ago, after reviewing x-rays, that it's time for my wisdom teeth to come out.:-+ So naturally, my wisdom teeth ...

I get those dreams periodically, and they're a pain in the neck! JCDamon, thanks for the link. That helps me better understand what's causing them. I never though that my teeth grinding would affect it! It does make sense that people who undergo extensive dental work would have these dreams. I just ...

Elly, I'm sorry to hear about that. I'm not entirely sure whether or not you will be able to get your braces put on or not. It's pretty much what your TMJ doc feels is best for you. I just found out in March that I've had TMJ for as long as anyone can remember. My orthodontist refused to admit that ...

most likely just on your first molars, though it is possible you'll get them on your second molars.
