Re: December Buddies ................

Hey December buddies! I haven't posted since my surgery on the 29th. Everything went pretty well and so far I am very happy with the results. I was placed into lighter bands day 5 post-op and of course am still on a no chew diet. My doctor was very surprised at the low amount of swelling that I have...

Re: A bit of a panic

I was diagnosed as having asthma (athletic induced) in middle school/ high school. I used an inhaler, but it never seemed to work. A few years ago I went to a law enforcement academy and had a small episode. I explained to the doctors there that I had an inhaler, but that it never seemed to work. Th...

Re: December Buddies ................

Hey Badbite, I am doing really well actually and i'm not at all nervous yet... Its rather strange. Its like its not real. I will probably just be extremely nervous when I get to the hospital on the 29th. My surgeon had a BSSO only surgery scheduled before mine; however, that was cancelled, so i won'...

Re: December Buddies ................

Glad to hear everyone is doing reasonably well! Badbite, that sucks about the sore throat and inflammation! Hopefully it is just due to the surgery and will clear up in a couple of days. I have been paranoid about getting sick and have been wiping everything down to disinfect any space I am in... I ...

Re: December Buddies ................

I apologize for the poor language skills. I work nights and the mental pistons were not all in firing mode, haha. I meant to say "snuck". I had my OS appointment yesterday and asked for the end of December if possible. Luckily, he had one surgery on the 29th and approved mine for the same ...

Hey Chicago, For everyone that is curious, this blog was done by a nursing student that had surgery and later was able to view one. Pretty interesting, but still not something to read if you think it will upset you before your surgery time comes. http://sjpjawsurgery.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=...

I haven't had surgery yet, so I really cannot shed any light on this related to that experience; however, I figured something out related to myself and breakouts. I am in my mid-20's and didn't have any trouble with it my whole life...until I hit 25. I didn't have bad ones, but they were more painfu...

Overactive Upper Lip/ Surgical Lip Repositioning

Just curious to see if anyone has experienced this. I just had my first surgery consult so nothing is finalized/ set in stone, but my surgeon said that my gummy smile could actually be due to an over-active upper lip and not an over-grown maxilla. He mentioned that my case would be difficult to dete...

Thank you both for your responses. Ozzysmom, I didn't think you were being harsh at all and I totally agree with your perspective. I keep telling myself that I shouldn't feel bad about going over her head, because I want it done right...the first time around. Every orthodontist that I have been to h...

Advice

I am not really sure how to approach this, so any advice would be appreciated. I am a class III with a bilateral crossbite. I got Damon braces last December and my teeth have moved a ton so far. They predicted I would have them on 2 years, but I think I may be ahead of schedule. So here is my dilemm...

Another new face...

I am new to the forum and just wanted to introduce myself. I am a 26yr old female from the Chicago area. I have a Class III with bilateral crossbite. I wanted to start this whole process when I was younger, however my Dad didn't think it was a big enough deal and didn't want to spend the money on it...
