I use Orajel Antiseptic Mouth Sore Rinse. It works amazingly well - I use it nightly in place of my usual mouthwash, right before bed. I went camping and forgot it for two days and voila! instant mouth sores. But if I use it daily it prevents them. Also if I feel a sore spot forming, I'll use it and...

Big. Sad. Face. Disappointment.

Hi all. You can see from my pics my "rogue tooth". I went for my 2nd tightening yesterday. At the 5 weeks ago (first) tightening, she put on power chains to my Incisors to pull them back over those extraction gaps. The plan was to bracket the "rogue" tooth yesterday and pull it i...

Lori, I am such a dork. I just used Paint available with windows accessories. My fiance is a programmer and has 1000 different software tools but I can't get him to do this type of simple crap. I pulled them into paint, did text and added the date, and then cut them and pasted into a new paint windo...

Hi - I love my clear for the top. I have metal on bottom. My type have no rubber bands. I only have two bands, top side teeth, to close my gaps (power chains).

Lenoreo - they are bracketing the rogue tooth (supposedly) on the 28th when I go for the next adjustment. But my "obsession du jour" is whether there will be enough space. I wonder: Do they bracket a rogue tooth if it still has to push its way in? Or do they only bracket it if there is a w...

Update on my rogue tooth. Pics, Two Months In.

I think it's improving. I actually had a crying meltdown over it two nights ago as I was convinced my teeth were getting worse. Normally I'm really positive. Anyway, here are the shots of my upper arch and it *is* getting better I think. Also lower shots of my full smile progress. Apologies if it is...

Gregpeckfan's Braces, two months in with pictures

Hi folks. I am 40. I have had severely crowded teeth my whole life and I had two consultations in my 20s. First time I was told I needed jaw surgery, four extractions, 3 years. Second doc told me 2.5 years, no jaw surgery, two extractions. I went so far as to have molds with the 2nd doc and chickene...

Thanks Tumbledry. Actually, it does help to know that. I've been feeling kind of demoralized this week. This, after my high of ~10 days ago, when I walked around on air for 3 days to realize my two front teeth were both visible for the first time in my life - - they had always overlapped. Last night...

Ugh! Rogue tooth is making me crazy.

I have a rogue tooth. Ugh! It's to the left of my front left tooth. (In between front, and incisor). It has always tucked flush behind my front tooth, my whole life but it was flat against the tooth. Now that my front teeth are pulled back and more straightened, it has been pushed back INTO my mouth...

I have a mix of your feelings. I am very confident IN the braces. I'm one of those 'big goofy smile' braces people, with blue rubber bands to accentuate my silver bottom brackets. (white ceramic on top though, I'm a professional at work). I don't have the self consciousness as much. I'm 40 and I am ...

Hi all. I go for my first tightening on Thursday. At 5-13 in the first photo, my initial "braces on" she placed a partial wire front 4 teeth, and bands. On 5/21 I had both first premolars extracted, and on the morning of 5/26 after a Memorial Weekend recovery, I had the full wire placed. W...

Feeling emotional about the changes.

I am 40. This is my first time ever in braces. I needed them badly as a child but financially, and lifestyle wise, they were not in the bargain. I have full mouth photos, but not on this computer, maybe I will post them later. Anyway, it's the two front teeth I am really amazed with. I told my ortho...

I am 40, and I've had braces on since May 13. First time, and my teeth are severely crowded. I have ceramic top, metal bottom and I had two extractions (first premolar) in week 1.
