Hi All, Haven't been on for a while as life has been a bit crazy!! My op was moved to October 5th and this week has been.................ok. Yes, much to my amazement, it has been fine - pain has obviously not been fun, but I seem to have escaped a "nasty" experience. Woke up in ALOT of pa...

Not much to report - got all the wire ligs and funny little lopps things on my teeth last week - must admit, teeth were KILLING me after moulds this time and the wire ligs meant that teeth were a bit shocked for a couple of days. All good now though apart from the odd wire in cheek moment! Finishing...

I had extractions and didn't notice any difference facial wise because of it and they didn't hurt a bit. So I am one of the pleased people, but it is a personal opinion. I needed my extractions - too many teeth in too small a jaw.

I'm 23 and have had braces for 15 months now - in that time, dated a few people casually with no worries and been in two relationships. Currently in a relationship and he has only really known me with braces on :) Dont worry about it - to be honest, if a person was that shallow that they had an issu...

Hi Willowisp Congrats on getting nearer to surgery. :) I'm due to have my surgery late september, but I think my hooks are going on on the 19th (unless I have a surprise appointment with the ortho I don't know about yet, which is likely to be honest!) so I will let you know what happens at that appo...

Mmmm yummy - you've just made me want a jacket potato for dinner! How are you finding the weight loss aspect that most people seem to have - is it quite dramatic or not really - seems to vary. The teeth part is the easy part ;) don't blame you on the wafer getting in front, I think I would running a...

I'll be 24 when I have the op, birthday is 5 days before it! I think the only thing you can do is just eat as much as you can, when you can, that's all I'm going to aim to do. Glad the pain isn't too horrible - I saw what you said about the IV drugs being a pain in the butt *literally* You'l...

I'm 23 and I'll be having it in Chichester - St Richards, I'm lucky in that the surgeon seems to have a good reputation in the field and I've trawled the Net reading anything he has published. I am really not looking forward to the not being able to eat part, I am preparing a list of things to eat i...

Hi Kerry,

Glad you have made it through with no complications - can't be much fun and those stupid green herbs are bad enough in braces

Good luck for today Kerry :D

I've had braces since May 08 and was ready for surgery in June, but everything got a bit delayed due to my surgeon being ill! Can't wait for the operation now!

You'll have to give me all the details! xx
