Re: Really worried :-( Front teeth feel wobbly

Hello Everyone Just to update on the wobbly teeth issue... It's now been around 10 months since I was de-braced, and I noticed yesterday that I was tackling a very crusty chewy bread roll with no problems, so I guess my wobbly front teeth concerns are over  Hope that reassures people considerin...

Thanks guys :D It's now been one month since deband and my teeth feel so much better! I still wouldn't tackle a crunchy apple but yesterday I actually bit into a (very soft!) sandwich, progress!!! I was pretty worried at one stage though, good to hear that this is a normal experience (why don't orth...

I'm in the UK so sorry, can't help with the retainer brite question. Just wanted to say that you might not want to rush straight into tooth whitening. I had my gel all ready before debanding but didn't anticipate my teeth feeling so sensitive from the debanding procedure itself, and that didn't real...

Hello Personally, I wouldn't drink anything except water with my Essix in, I don't like the idea of having something sugary trapped between the retainer and my teeth. I do share your problem though, currently the longest I've left my retainers out for is 3 hours and it's pretty tight to get the top ...

My Essix retainers were included in the total fee for braces but I requested an extra set (I'm terrible for losing stuff!) and was charged an additional £50 (UK) total for top and bottom arches. It would have cost me £80 if I hadn't had them made at the same time as my first set.

I'm sure the person taking your moulds would have noticed if you had moved enough to cause problems. Your ortho will check that your retainers fit properly before sending you away with them. I was worried about gaps opening up after braces but before receiving my retainers (lucky me, I only had to w...

I 'whistle' on S's when wearing my Essix retainers, I don't think anyone except me notices though...perhaps they do but they are being polite!!

Hello I've been wearing my Essix retainers for 2 weeks now (finally got to grips with popping them out now! :D ). I am UK based, and bought the retainer brite tablets from my orthodontist. The receptionist said most people use the tablets only once a week (?!) but I'm using them every morning and us...

Really worried :-( Front teeth feel wobbly

Hello All I had my braces removed 8 days ago. My teeth felt very delicate after debanding which I thought was to be expected, but I'm alarmed that after over a week (with 24/7 retainer wear) my teeth still feel 'weak', especially at the front, both upper and lower, but mainly upper. I tentatively pr...

I can identify with that too - my teeth feel 'vulnerable' without the retainer in, it is an odd feeling. I've only been debraced a week today (must change my ticker animation thingie!!)

My ortho said 24/7 for one week then switch to popping them in after dinner, wearing through the night until morning. I'm sticking with 24/7 for at least another week I think, everything still feels kinda 'weak'. I'm still cutting up sandwiches and eating with a knife and fork as I'm scared of bitin...

Thanks for the reply Lela :D A week on, things are a little easier. The bottom one pops out relatively easily now. I'm now easing it off a little all the way around, instead of attacking one side and that's helping a lot. Top one still a struggle but easier than it was!

Weird...my teeth feel itchy too, just on one side at the top. I've been debraced one week and wearing my Essix 24/7. Had them out for about 1.5 hrs this evening (having dinner) and the top felt tight when i replaced it and now I have that itchy feeling like I did when first braced. Am assuming the '...

Essix retainer removal tips?!

Hello all I had my braces removed on Monday (2.5 days ago) and I'm still having difficulty removing my Essix retainers. When I have wiggled one side slightly free of my teeth, it causes huge pressure on the front teeth and those on the other side and I can't see how my teeth will settle if being squ...

Essix retainer and GC Tooth Mousse?

Hello everyone

After a somewhat traumatic debanding this morning with ceramic brackets that did NOT want to come off, I thought I might smear my poor teeth with GC Tooth Mousse before bed tonight.

Does anyone know if Tooth Mousse is compatible with Essix retainers?

Many thanks :)
