Hi Chicago just wanted to set your mind at rest, you won't set off the airport metal detector. I work at an airport and have been through them several times since surgery and not set any alarms off.

I'm nearly 4 weeks post op, lower jaw advanced 9mm and my lower lip and chin are still numb, I've got very slight sensation the right hand edge of my bottom lip but that is all.

I hope it starts to come back soon as kisses from my wife just don't feel the same with only the top lip.

Hi Everyone I'm back home now, not feeling to bad not had to have any pain meds which I have found quite surprising. I've got a lot of swelling and have a chin that resembles judge Dread. This wafer/splint thing is very annoying but i've got to put up with it for another week at least. Glad to hear ...

I would say book an appointment with a private orthodontist. It was the best £85 I've ever spent. He looked at my teeth, I had a 12mm overjet and a recessed Jaw and he immediately referred me to my local hospital. That was last Feb and I had my braces fitted las July and I am booked in for lower jaw...

I've had the official appointment come through now.
Surgery is booked for Sept 7th and I have to be admitted on the 6th.
The op is on the Tuesday and the surgeon said that I will be able to go home on the Thursday.

All seems very real now, I'll have to start planning things out soon.

Just got back from my appointment with the surgeon, and it looks like I'll be having my lower jaw surgery on 7th September.

I'll have to start a September surgery buddies thread sooner to the time.

Roll on september
