I'm out of braces - hurray! Now I'm trying to figure out all the ins and outs of retainers... I'm currently using the Retainer Brite soak at night...but what the heck am I supposed to do the retainers (essix) the other times during the day I have my retainers out? Usually I just give them a quick br...

I'm not sure at all. If it is, it's very weird because it's my front teeth that are open. I was told that my molars were all fitting together fine. Hmmm. Hopefully I remember to ask the next time I'm in there!

Congrats and good luck on braces tomorrow! The lead-up to getting them on is the worst part - everything after is relatively easy.

I've been wondering this as well. I have the box, except mine is is on my 4's and 6's. I was under the impression that my back teeth wouldn't really be needing elastics, so I'm just confused all around.

I survived! Now I'm just trying to adapt to these hunks of metal AND elastics. I guess they're starting me out gentle... parrots? What is the grading scale for these things? lol.

I think for right now, everything jsut feels WEIRD. Not really pain at all, just very very different.

I've seen commercials for both Sensodyne and I think Crest advertising a new foaming toothpaste that's supposed to get EVERYWHERE in your mouth. Seems like it would be a great thing with braces. Has anyone tried these out yet? Or should I just stick with my regular ol' Crest?

Braces Day, that is. I'm excited and nervous and just needed to share with someone. I think I'm msotly prepared except for mentally. I have my wax, and my brushes, and everything... just have NO idea what to really expect tomorrow morning.

Thanks Socksy! I think I pretty much have decided that the no-extraction is the better decision for me. Now I just have to get over my mental block with forking over that much money.
