Thanks. Your answered my question effectively. I'm now able to eat normally... I have minor soreness on my front two teeth though.

Okay, maybe I should rephrase my question. I've noted that the new wired added to my upper arch is thicker. What is the purpose of a thicker wire?

Newbie Question

I went for an adjustment 1/18/10 and my orthodontist removed the powerchain on my lower arch and double tied it.

My question is... what exactly is "wire number 2"? At that appointment "wire number 2" was added to my upper arch as well as a powerchain.

Thanks,

Oh, I forgot to mention my appointment to have that one bracket repaired was the 16th of this month at 1:30PM. I'm sure my dads' nasty phone call Tuesday will change their minds. The ortho will probably complain at me because I'm 15. They kept reiterating soft food, soft food, soft food when she was...

I'm ready to sue the crap out of my orthodontist. Still waiting to have a bracket re-glued, I managed to screw up the bracket on the adjacent tooth. I was eating fries from Burger King and heard a weird noise. I looked in the mirror and saw that the blue band on the tooth adjacent to the one ...

I broke a bracket off

Help! Today I was eating pizza and broke a bracket on the lower arch. I immediately called my orthodontist and he asked if it was bothering me. Naturally I said no. My next appointment was scheduled for Sept. 2nd, but since a bracket needs to repaired they're moving it to Sept. 16. Is that too long ...

I think I'll be alright. My tooth didn't feel this way until I HOOKED IT THE PROXIAL BRUSH... THE BRACES APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE TEETH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.

I'll give it more time and see if it tightens up. It's not a bad loose, just looser than it was before I HOOKED IT IN THE PROXIAL BRUSH.

I think you're missing the point. My teeth were loose, something I expected, but I just about ripped it out trying to move the proxial brush to the next bracket.

Loose tooth, will it fall out?

Today I was cleaning in between the brackets of my braces with my proxial brush. As I was removing the brush, the very tip of it caught the bracket attached to my left lateral incisor. My teeth were already loose as I have only been braced for 5 days now, but I'm worried the tooth will fall out. Wha...
