Just thought i should post some pictures to keep a record of progress. It's been around 3 months for the upper lingual brace and just over 2 months for the lower one. I have my 2nd adjustment in a couple of weeks! http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/1890/photoon20100113at0048.jpg http://img20.imagesh...

I had my first adjustment today. It was quite painful. I'm double banded on the bottom (whatever that means) and have rectangular wires on the top. I'm already in pain, so i reckon the next few days are going to be liquid only for me! I've also noticed, my bite has become quite open. All part of the...

Ouch... my teeth starting hurting today, very randomly.

That can only be a good sign. And it's only a few days away from my first adjustment. Is it normal for teeth to be moving and sore on and off, all the way up to the adjustment appointment?

In London UK i would say the prices are even higher. I'm paying between 8-9 K for my braces. They are lingual, which are more expensive than front of teeth braces, but still quite expensive. In US terms that's around $13,000 +. This doesn't include my retainer fees. I think price is very much locati...

Talisman's story

Ok, thought i should document my progress with lingual braces (Incognito's as they're called here in the UK) I'm 28, male, and have wanted to have braces for years. I never got them when i was a kid, as they're not cheap and to get them on the NHS (free health care system over here in the UK) you ha...

I was looking at my teeth today, and have noticed my midline has shifted way off from the center now! Lol. I guess this is all part of the process... When i look at my teeth here compared to my original photo's, they've definitely moved. Has anyone experienced them being moved to weird positions bef...

Squarer jaws as opposed to long faces may be considered preferable. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder i guess.

Have you thought about lingual braces? Consult with an ortho who does it and see whether they think it can help your situation.

They're a bit more costly, and affect the speech more than anything. But you get over the speech problem after a month.

I'm sick of a lot of people saying "why have you got braces? you don't need braces!"

Obviously i feel i do need braces, and the inevitable question "so how much are you paying for this?" comes up.

I find it quite insulting actually.

Still quite interested to hear peoples thoughts on widening of the arch, and how its done with lingual braces.

My ortho said he hasn't ruled it out, and we'll monitor the progress.

I can't notice it myself. Perhaps it's because i see them everyday.

I can certainly feel them though!
