Re: Guess what I am getting for Xmas? My new Smile!!! (Pic)
Oh boy do I know how you feel lol. I had mine in for 3 years which included literal blood and tears lol. Was only supposed to be 2 but because of a stupid canine and a oral surgeon who didn't know what he was doing my treatment took much longer. I have posted my mishaps on the Impacted Canines Club....

Re: Power chain isn't working?
This whole thing has been nothing but a pain. I'm still unsure who is at fault for my chain (that was bringing my impacted canine down) breaking 4 times. My oral surgeon would blame the orthodontist and my orthodontist would blame the oral surgeon. Finally I went to a different oral surgeon the 5th ...

Re: Power chain isn't working?
Thanks for all the feedback. At my appointment on Thursday they doubled up the powerchain on the top. It looks like the gap is finally starting to close. My ortho could tell I was getting frusterated. Hopefully after another 2 months they will finally becomming off!

Re: Power chain isn't working?
Thanks for the input as well VA5! I was quoted for 2years and paid for 2 years but since they extended the treatment I'm now stuck paying for every visit. It is just very frustrating because I've paid out such a large sum of money between the Ortho and the Oral surgeons I saw for my chain surgeries ...

Power chain isn't working?
One of my adult canines never dropped down and I had it brought down with a chain (major pain in the rear!). Well during the process the ortho created a very large space for it and now that the tooth is down they are tightening the space back up. I've been wearing power chains top and bottom for the...

Re: Lig colours (colors)
Just went through this whole thread and I'm regretting getting the clear brackets now lol. I originally did it to keep my braces on a low profile however now I wish I would have gone with the metal to try all the wonderful colored ligs out there lol. I'm nearing the end of my treatment however I'm p...

Re: Elastics snapping
I change mine out 2-4 times per day. My ortho said to not worry about eating with them in because more than likely they will snap. However I have never had them snap on a daily basis so maybe you should check with your ortho on it?

Re: Second chain broke
Oh do I feel your pain lol. I went through 5 surgeries and finally the last one held and my canine is down and they are just tightening everything up. I felt the same way you do now. I opted to try one more time after the 4th one broke (I also went to a new oral surgeon) and figured if this one brok...

Re: Impacted canine exposure surgery -- sedation?
I had the surgery done 5 times (don't ask why lol). The first time I opted for the laughing gas then the next 4 times they just numbed everything up. It really depends on your pain tolerance and where the teeth are located. But if your insurance will cover being sedated I would go that route. Mine d...

Broken Elastics hook on metal molar band?
I managed to break the hook off of my upper left molar band. I wear class 3 elastics. I also have a traveling ortho that goes to my dental office every other week. My next appointment is on 2/10. Do you think not wearing my elastics for 2 weeks is going to set me back by much? I called the dental of...

Re: When in treatment did you get rubber bands?
I got my bands in December. I've been in treatment for 2.5 years now. I was quoted 2 years but my teeth had other plans lol. But I was told at my last appointment I have 4-6 months left. However I've been really slacking on wearing my elastics so I'm thinking it will be more like 8 months.

Re: Where is everyone from?
I'm in the US! Las Vegas, NV to be exact. I'm so not doing what my parents did to me by never dealing with my impacted canine to my child. I'm 25 and finally finishing up my go around in braces (paid out of pocket for everything on my own!). If my child needs braces she is getting it taken care of b...

Re: Flossing back teeth?
Has anyone had issues with the floss getting caught on the metal bands? Whenever I floss my left back tooth the floss somehow always gets caught on the metal band on the tooth in front of it and i have a hard time pulling the floss out. Sometimes it comes out with no problems, other times the floss ...
