Cassad thanks for the info! I'll be getting that surgery done the end of this year, and thus far that's the best review of it I have heard. Question for you, can you physically feel the plates after recovery?

Hey there! Last Feb. I had the SARPE surgery, and all wisdom teeth taken out. Mine was done in the hospital with a oral surgeon. Went really well, no pain. They knock you out, and when you wake up you have puffy cheeks. A week after the surgery is when you start cranking open the expander. After a w...

Hm, I looked into the Frenectomy subject, and think that won't be a problem. I believe I lost that thing during my SARPE surgery.

How long did it take to close your gap?

Braced on 9/22/05

Powerchained 11/6/05

The space b/w my front two teeth is about 3/4 of a millimeter big, and doesn't seem to be moving. It use to be the size of a tooth (at least a whole millimeter) but it's slowly (extremly slowly) closing. Just trying to figure out a ball park.

I had an expander, and right week after SARPE surgery I began cranking that bad boy open. It took like a week, until the gap met my Ortho's needs. The gap is as big as a tooth, but nothing hurt while expanding. I personally have had the gap since Feb, and only a couple weeks ago got on a power chain...

Question on arch (gap) w/ Photo

I just got braces on 9/22. As you can tell in the photo below I have a gap b/w my front teeth caused by pallet expansion surgery. My next appointment is not for another 6-8 weeks. Then I will get power chains. My question is, is the Arch wire doing anything right now as it pertains to the gap? Or is...

Why do you think Bottoms usually finish first?

I was just wondering, you always seem to notice that like 9 out 10 cases people's uppers are worse off then there lowers. Do you think that is due to the form of ones bite, and the way we chew etc.....or just because we tend to notice the top braces on people more?? I guess I'm just wondering why it...

You may want to consult a chiropractor too. Or mention it your Ortho, and see what they say. A chiropractor once told me that being in the ortho chair a lot and the "strain" of braces can put pressure on your neck. Although I i think chiropractors work, They also make there money by making...

Does anyone use wax on the back of there alst tooth? That's the hardest place to put it (upper arch). It's tough to get it to stay. I try to get it to cover the end of the wire that pokes out a bit. So painful!

Got my baces on 9/22. The first couple days weren't bad at all. Only thing I need to wax is where the wire ends on both sides of the top arch. Otherwise, all is well!!! The count down to closing the gap begins!!
