Re: Debanded but no follow-up.
I think you would have a great shot at trying your ortho (if he has another practice). My Ortho's moved practices before, but a long time ago and doesnt plan on movin to a different practice. My friend just recently built her a new office in 09. a little further away down the rd but she kept the sa...

Re: Retainer hurts my gums!
Hi, I think you should get your orthodontist to take a look at the fit. I have bonded retainers and have problems with my essix retainers as well. They cut into my lower jaw gums and I have to force them down to the extent that they bleed a bit. Will be calling the clinic for an appointment.

Debanded but no follow-up.
Hi all :D , Would appreciate some advice. I went for my debanding appointment last week and got permanent retainers on both the upper and lower arches. My orthodontist then made impressions of my teeth and I was told to collect the removable clear retainers this week. Went to collect the removable r...

If I didn't read wrongly, aesthetics isn't the most important factor for you. If so, you could just go for metal braces as it's high on reliability (in terms of moving the teeth), the most durable and cheapest. I'm on metal braces (both arches). I didn't consider ceramic brackets for the upper arch ...

Shaky molar that is banded
I just got braces last Saturday (three days ago). As I suffer from bruxism, my left upper first molar had been feeling a little bit shaky before the braces. It was not shaky to the point of moving when I tried wiggling it in the past. As it felt insignificant, I did not highlight this to my orthodon...

I just got my braces installed yesterday. Last evening, I tried using dental floss to floss around the molar bands but couldn't. (Interdental brushes worked though.) Maybe after the teeth start moving more, there could be sufficient space for flossing (using dental floss) to take place. Waterpik sho...
