Welcome! The first couple of days after an adjustment can be a little painful but pain reliever helps. You should be fine for Christmas dinner.
Good luck and I hope all goes well with your journey!

Impacted Canine
For close to two years I have been wearing braces (lingual top and clear on the bottom) to bring down an impacted canine. The canine is finally down and ready to be pulled into place. I took a few photos to show my progress. The tooth on the left is a pontic (fake tooth) that is directly in front of...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB
I've been in braces for close to two years (March). In January, I was told it would only take a couple of alignments to get my impacted canine down. I understand that it was in a difficult position and I believe I have allowed for that. My exposure surgery was June 2010. My teeth have been moved bac...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB
The pontic is attached via glue to the tooth next to the impacted canine. You would never know that's it's not real by looking at it. As I mentioned before, that was the work of my dentist. I don't have any problems with my linguals. From the moment the were attached my speech was fine. I love them....

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB
My advice is to do it. Depending on what type of braces you get they may not be noticeable. I have lingual on the uppers and clear on the bottom. I've had the bottom braces on since Jan and two people recently told me they didn't know that I had them, one being my hairstylist. You won't need to go w...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB
Ask your ortho for a flipper (fake tooth) to cover the gap, if he/she doesn't have them talk with your dentist. My dentist did an excellent job and it looks like my real tooth.
I've tried to take photos but it's a very difficult angle to capture the canine behind my fake tooth.

I would wait until you return from your vacation to get your braces.

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB
KMG ~ I've never heard of a TPA being used. My ortho left the impacted canine completely exposed for a few months. He felt there was better success in that method. He placed a bracket on the tooth a few months later if I recall correctly, and I noticed movement right away. It ended up coming off and...

Re: 4 Orthodontist Consultations and 4 treatment options?
I would also look at reviews for each Dr and get opinions from other people that you know that have great results with their orthodontists. I've tried Invisalign without success and ended up needing braces. I didn't have a disclaimer but at that time I was tired of trying to make the Invisalign work...

Re: debraced but not done...opinions
I'm not sure that I follow. I think they look good. What do you mean "you could actually see the tooth"? How are they slanted? I know it's difficult to see everything in photos. The only tooth that I notice is the canine tooth on the right (your left) that seems to come out a little furthe...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB
I asked this question on another board but I haven't received a reply so I will repost it here... My impacted canine is finally at the gum line now. However, it is still tilted.. almost sideways but not completely. I have lingual uppers and a flipper/fake tooth attached to my opposite teeth to conce...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB
So apparently my cost estimation I got from my ortho was only for braces and does not include cost of getting my impacted canine expose. Can anyone tell me what the cost you had for exposure? I don't remember the cost of exposure surgery as it was a year ago and I had wisdom tooth extractions at th...

Re: Braces while pregnant
I have heard that your teeth do move quicker during pregnacy. My hairstylist's husband is a dentist and told her to get braces during that time and a girl at my dentist's office had braces while she was expecting. I'm assuming they are on to something..
