chewing takes time. It's funny because right after surgery I asked all the same questions. I can totally understand your impatience to get back to normal.
How was Costa? I got surgery with Dr. Reiche back in October. I'm totally happy with the results.

I had surgery with Dr. Reiche on 10/22. He's great. The whole experience was great. It's definitely a crazy experience but the people there are great and take good care of you. Just like OzzysMom, I'm sure I can help answer any of your questions about where you'll be staying, what you can expect, et...

Yea sounds like we had the same surgery. The time really does fly. Once you start eating normally and the swelling goes down (approximately 2 weeks), you start getting used to everything. I'm 5 weeks post-op. I started going to the gym only 10 days after surgery (light weight lifting, no cardio). I'...

I also didn't have a splint. I have plates and screws. It involves a cut on each side of the face kind of below the ear. Re: Questons for those that had double-jaw surgery..
1. How long were you wired shut for? 2. How long were you on a liquid only diet and when were you allowed to start eating soft foods again? 3. How long were you on prescription drugs and what skind of drugs did you need to take? Were the drugs required or only if you wanted/needed them to deal with...

i had a similar problem with insurance. Didn't find out until the week before surgery either. i thought the hospital would have checked at the initial consultation. I chose to go the Costa Rica path for a much cheaper solution. I'm down here now and 4 days post-surgery (double jaw). They treat you g...
