sounds like you had the same thing done as someone else here who had their jaw moved in the office, not sure whether his was moved forward or backward, either way sounds painful, glad you are better. Heavy cat was a big part of my recovery! When I got back from the hospital, my cat spent a long time...

Sorry to hear about your jaw shifting, good luck with everything. If what you need is to have your jaw wired, then go for it and try not to think too much about it. Two weeks is better than six weeks, that's for sure.

What do you mean your blood count was "half?" That sounds way low. Breathlesness is a sign of anemia. Do you take vitamins? In my case, I had pretty much normal energy after 1 week, but I am not anemic. Everyone is different. Make sure they follow up on that blood count.

okay, something I have been wondering for a while, I keep hearing "shifted midine." Does it mean the two top front teeth are not exactly aligned with the two bottom teeth? Or that the entire jaw is moved too much to the side? If it's just a teeth issue, wouldn't it be easily corrected with...

Soccerchic, totally normal! You will indeed obsess, there is no other word to describe it  Everytime you will walk in front of a mirror you will look at your bite really close. You will even "peel your teeth" to your closest family members  and ask them 1000 times "has...

Enigma, do you have a splint? It took me a long time to be able to fit a baby spoon in my mouth and I only had lower jaw surgery. When I was really hungry I found what satisfied me the most was grinding cereal to a powder and then blending it with almond milk. That always hit the spot, I do not like...

I had BSSO. This actually started recently since I stopped using the bands. Nothing holding my mouth closed I guess. If I sleep on my side it doesn't happen, but then my jaw hurst after sleeping on my side :( I wax so that way the lips get stuck on the wax and not my teeth because I was getting cuts...

same here and I am almost 3 months postop! I now know what they call "cottonmouth" it's horrible. I found that when I sleep on my back my mouth falls open and then I wake up with my mouth bone dry. This never happened before, my husband teases me and tells me that's because my lower jaw is...

1. Heavy duty bands - 6 days Elastics - 9 weeks 2. I never did use a straw, drank straight from the cup starting on first postop day 3. Talk, right away, smile and laugh took a while, about 2 weeks or so when the swelling got better 4. The prescribed pain (liquid) took it for two days and then took ...

Guacamole is chopped avocados with chopped onions, cilantro and tomatoes seasoned with salt, pepper and lemon juice (some people mash avocados into a puree, throw in a bucket of salt and call it guacamole, no thanks). The thing is, you can eat it by itself and it is yummy, but topped on a crispy cor...

Sounds like you are being undertreated if all you are taking is Advil and Tylenol (yes, it is ok, but not ideal nor recommended) for 10/10 pain. Of course, pain is subjective. Have you tried alternating hot and cold packs? When do you have to see your OS again?
