hey, you aren't alone! I just recently have been having really bad TMJ flare-ups and I never had TMJ before. It's so terrible, the muscles around my mouth get so tight I can't even open up my mouth sometimes. An oral surgeon here gave me muscle relaxers which help a little but not near enough. Massa...

I was just asking why you are accusing me of scheduling surgery with him last week? That's just kinda creepy, because I didn't try to schedule another surgery but I did speak with him on Friday and here it is 3 days later and somehow you knew we talked. No one even said anything to me about that pos...

There were a couple people I tried to not say anything to about my jaw surgery but the secret definitely did not last for long, it makes you look more strange trying to completely avoid them rather than just being up front. Talking will be uncomfortable to say the least. Shortly after my surgery a l...

And in regards to proof, what kind of exhibit am I supposed to provide via this message board besides words? If I have a positive experience I am the kind of person who encourages others to do the same. If I have a negative experience, I am the kind of person who will warn others not to do the same....

OzzysMom - I didn't try to book another surgery with Dr. Reiche this week. I spoke with him over the phone, and not once did I say I wanted to book another surgery with him - the call was solely for the purpose to clarify what had happened since the initial surgery in January and everything with my ...

I honestly have no idea why a hospital stay in the united states is so expensive, but it's not unusual for people to just spend ONE night in a hospital and come back with a bill in the 10,000 - 15,000 range in this country, depending on where you are located.

I would really, really, REALLY encourage you to explore other options regardless of what the surgeon's skills are. This is such a major surgery and being able to regularly follow-up with the surgeon is extremely important. If something goes wrong, you will end up spending much more than the amount o...

What kind of surgery did you have??? It all depends!!! Orthognathic surgery covers a wide spectrum of things. I would say you are probably ok, 10 days after my surgery I had to take a 3-4 hour flight with a 2 hour layover to take another 2 hour flight then drive another 2 hours and I managed just fi...

How long did it take for numbness to go away???

Hey everyone I had a BSSO and Lefort I done in January of this year and still have a pocket of numbness on the right hand side of my lower lip and chin. It's not completely numb and has gotten better but it still feels different from the rest of my face. I was wondering if anyone went this long with...

OhioM - Where do I begin with what went wrong? All screws have been infected - not normal. The nerve on the lower right part of my jaw burns, meaning the lower part of my face has a REALLY warm sensation on it that comes and goes, which signifies severe nerve damage. The upper jaw was done wrong and...

No, nothing has been going better. The whole thing has been horrible. The guy who did my procedure is satanic. That is all I have to say about him. I wouldn't wish what I have been going through on my worst enemy. I've had numerous doctors here say that if he were practicing in the United States I w...

Vonjo - you have no idea what you are talking about. Why are you giving reccomendations about surgeons you haven't even met or experienced first-hand? I went to Costa Rica to have surgery with Dr. Reiche and my whole process has been a nightmare. Don't reccomend surgeons that you haven't even dealt ...

Yea, I'm having to pay more out of pocket to correct things that he botched. I know some people had a positive experience with him on this board but I sure didn't. And two oral maxillofacial surgeons here said that his work was very shabby after looking at some CAT scans. I honestly would have jumpe...

Oh yea, I almost forgot. At the recovery hospital I nearly almost had a heart attack and no one even came to my bed for 45 minutes. Not lying. My heart rate skyrocketed to 175 beats per minute after I had been injected with some anti-inflamatory medication by a nurse and after pressing the emergency...

COSTA RICA NIGHTMARE!!!

Ok, I have to get this off of my chest because I do not want anyone to have to go through the experience that I have had with Dr. Reiche in Costa Rica. First of all, before I get into the details of how screwed up the service was that I was provided, let me get into the horrific details of my botche...
