Re: 36 and getting ceramic braces in 2 weeks

Hi Abbey, I'm a 36 yo male and just got my braces off last month after 15 months. I was worried about peoples comments prior to getting braced. What I found is people didn't care. People who are self conscious about their own teeth won't say anything. People who don't think about their teeth won't c...

Re: February Debrace Club

Congratulations Jewles!!!! It must be so exciting. I'm very happy for you and can't wait to see and feel my teeth with no braces.

I'm sure we'll all be grinning from ear to ear. And eating forbidden foods of course!!!

Re: February Debrace Club

I'm scheduled to have mine removed February 8th. I got the news on 1/25 so it will only be two weeks of a wait, but it seems like it's taking forever. I'm getting an essix retainer top and hawley bottom. I have to wait a week in between removal and getting the retainers. I'm a little worried about t...

3 Month Anniversary

I just realized today is my 3 month anniversary of getting braced top and bottom. I still have a long ways to go. Original sentence is 14 - 18 months. I've experienced a lot of movement. My top teeth are really looking good. I have a spring on the bottom to make room to pull one tooth forward. Hopef...

You shouldn't break anything with either fried shrimp or rice. I love rice and my experience has been it gets stuck every where in the braces. A thorough cleaning is required after you're done eating.

I'm certainly no expert, but I think that's a pretty accurate picture of what they may look like. I waited until I was 35 to get braces. Needless to say I wish I had gotten them when I was 18. I'm guessing since you're 18 you are probably in your first year of college. Just imagine, if you got brace...

Hi Chelsea, I had to chime in and say I was shocked to read that you were listening to Lita Ford. That brought back some memories. I saw her in concert when I was in High School. Just after "Kiss Me Once" came out. I think she opened for Poison. I guess I'm dating myself. It sounds like yo...

I'm sure the ortho will file the front teeth to even them out and remove the chips. I have a chip in one of my front teeth and we discussed during the consultatin that once the braces came off she would even up the two front teeth and remove the chip.

Hi janjan, Welcome to the site. As you can see I'm also from Maine. I'm sure there are others here from Maine, but you're the first I've seen. I've had my braces for two months. It sounds like you've already adjusted to yours. It has taken me a bit longer. In the begining I was pretty self conscious...

My ortho is 15 minutes from work and 20 minutes from home. I consulted with two ortho's and after liking both decided to go with the one closest to my home and work. Distance certainly wasn't the most important factor in my decision, but it was near the top. It also helped that the closer ortho was ...

Please don't apologize for the length of your post. I've been braced for just over a month. I'm definitely getting used to it. Like you I don't think I look better with them and can't wait to get them off. However I'm very glad that I've started the journey. I've already seen progress and am glad I'...

Hi Carly09, Glad to hear things have gotten better. Yes, surprisingly I have noticed some movement in 4 weeks. I suffer from crowding. I'm sure it will be a while before they are alighned, but a couple have moved straighter already. I can't wait to see what they look like in a few months. I don't wa...

I too have moments when I feel that I've made a big mistake and think I should have them removed. I know if I did I would just want them put right back on. I was self conscious about my teeth before and this is the only way to change them. I know it will all be worth it in the end. I feel like havin...

Hello, Another pre-Christmas customer here. I got braced 12/3. 15-18 month treatment plan. Today is the 4 week mark. I have a couple teeth that are sore and make eating dfficult. I'm ok as long as I cut things up into bite size portions. Bitting into things is still tough. I keep telling myself it w...
