Went to the ortho yesterday, to get my lower molars banded. I was soooo looking forward to getting the spacers out of my teeth. I hadn't really changed the way I was eating, or the type of food I was eating, and honestly, they'd become more of an annoyance than anything else. So, I get there, get in...

I just had metal spacers put in yesterday, and they're FAR worse than the regular plastic kind. I guess I'm just lucky and have extra tight teeth! :? I found that taking Ibuprofen really helped, and I didn't really alter the foods I ate when I had plastic spacers. You have them for such a short amou...

Whiskers: thanks for commenting! I have been considering asking my ortho about bite blocks, and I think I will for sure now, when I got back next week. I'm really hating the whole "hurry up and wait" deal going on right now. :D After needing braces for so long I'm anxious to get the show o...

PrincessFunnybook's Story

Hello all. I introduced myself over in the other section, but I thought I'd start a blog-type thing over here, detailing everything. I'm a SAHM, and after needing braces for 20 years (and my parents not having the means to take care of it) I've finally gotten over my fear of all things teeth related...

I love that! Welcome, I'm new here too. Everyone has been really great so far, and it's nice to have support from others who are going through the same thing. Keep us updated!

Updates

Desert Rose: Awesome idea! I'll hit you up for info on what's going on with you and then I won't need to worry a week later! I do the same thing with a good friend of mine who's son is 6 months older than my daughter. :D I've had a lot of pain from the 8 spacers in my molars, more so than I thought ...

Hi River!

I really enjoyed reading your story, and you're a great writer. Thanks for being so candid and for putting yourself out there.

I too am a bonafide member of the Vampire Fang club. Maybe we should have t-shirts made!

Hi Desert Rose! My appointment to get braced is Wednesday 12/9, and honestly it can't come soon enough! Right now I'm busily playing with my spacers, which I'm secretly halfway hoping will pop out soon, because they're driving me insane! :x I'm also planning on having tacos Tuesday night, because I ...

A new braceface (almost!)

Hello everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself, and I really want to tell everyone thank you for sharing so much on these boards. I've been lurking for a couple months, as I've gone through my wisdom teeth extractions and the subsequent healing. Reading everyone's stories has really helped me bolst...
