Re: Painful bump on inside of top jaw.
He said it was a periodontal flare due to food getting stuck and causing some inflammation. He cleaned it and gave me some anti-biotics for ten days. He also gave me some pain killers because my word, this thing is painful.

Painful bump on inside of top jaw.
About a week ago, I noticed the gum between two of my upper last molars got a little tender to the touch. I made nothing of it and continued on as per usual. However, yesterday I noticed the gum area leading to the roof of my mouth is swollen and painful. It is quite painful to swallow and I can't e...

Re: Be Careful if you drink tea
Boy have I learned my lesson with tea. I drank so much before that my teeth became really really stained.....after I got roughed up from both my dentist and orthodontist I scheduled a cleaning. I was soooo happy that my teeth looked human again that I switched from black tea to tea with a little mil...

Re: wished i never got braces
I wouldn't worry. After my first month my teeth looked immaculate. After that, everthing is all over the place. Today I get up, big space at the bottom. Tomorrow the top looks a little weird compared to yesterday. I look out for comments everytime I go to see my ortho, but I get nothing....and somet...

Re: when do visits get easier?
Hi hi...I will be a bit off, but I also had an incisor removed and ever since my bottom teeth are really really sensitive. It's been ten months since and I still squirm and sweat like a horse in the chair. Sometimes it's pain, sometimes it's discomfort. All in all, I try to tell myself it will be ov...

It's beautiful that you are alive to tell us this now. You seem so confident and optimistic right now about your life and I thank you for posting this. I am currently going through a tough time and this little post made me feel so much better. God bless you.

Re: orotho appointment from hell
I can co-sign here. My appointments now seem to be a tad bit worse than they use to be in the earlies. I usually leave the chair sweating because many times my teeth are still achey from the last adjustment. I am still to get use to adjustments.

Re: Elastics...are they always this tight?
mine are actually Super Strong. The pain is minimal now...but even though he told me to take them out for brushing only, I take them out while eating because it's just not possible for me to eat properly with them. They are sooooo annoying....Yikes

Elastics...are they always this tight?
Soooo today I got elastics put in for the first time. I have it on my right side only and it is terrifying. LOL. The assistant was sooooo grouchy today, she just gave me a mirror to see what she was doing when putting them in, gave me some extras and that's it. Ummmm....I dunno what's going on here,...

Re: Shelby's Story :)
Omg. Soooo today I finally have something different happen since the last time I posted. Well my teeth were in top shape for the last few months, however I realised a few weeks ago, one of the bottom incisors began shifting away from the others on the left and created a space. Now it looks like it a...

Re: Anyone else started clenching their teeth since braces?
Oh yes. I do that now, since I have in the braces. I don't know what causes it, but sometimes I unclench at night and feel the pain from unknowingly having it clamped down for some time. I do it as well during waking hours especially when I'm concentrating on something really hard. It's painful when...
