Re: DesertCat's Story

Had last appointment before deband day today, and... Still Dec 9th! 8) Do have to continued to wear the settling elastics at night (expected that, though). Beyond that, and looking at my bite, etc., only thing that was done was a wax impression of the lowers. Long glob pressed real good (even a bit ...

Re: DesertCat's Story

Minor update: Went in today as space has been appearing between Mr. Narc and Mr. Not-So-Wonky (the two teeth that did all that movement). There's a bit more space than there was in the pics above from June, 2013. Can get a little interdental brush all the way between the teeth, gumline on out, with ...

Re: DesertCat's Story

nicolie825, staceyraver - Yeah, it's nice to have an end date. When I heard 'a few more months' earlier this year, it was more, eh, I'll wait until I have an actual date of sorts before I get too excited!

staceyraver -- Yours are even closer to being off! Good luck in 10 days!

Re: DesertCat's Story

Soon after those last ones, the bracket was moved on that chipped lateral incisor, so he no longer has a hook on him, and he's a wee bit straighter. These are my elastics, and my right side (non-NARC) was closer to meeting than the left, both when started the bands and when took the pictures. Side p...

Re: DesertCat's Story

A couple of notes on the previous/current/etc.: - Mr. NARC moved back so easily it's kinda scary. He actually started moving back before he started getting pulled on. Makes me worry about the 'memory' of those lowers. The uppers really weren't that bad. - And, as you can see, it's a lot of fixing th...

Re: DesertCat's Story

Gonna work on some older pics...and had some done up that never posted, for whatever reason, so here's a quick post: 11th Adjustment - January 26, 2012: http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy64/DesertCats/Braces_2012/Braces_11thAdj_Jan26_2012_Front.jpg http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy64/DesertCa...

Re: DesertCat's Story

Anna5 - Actually, those last pics were from nearly three years ago, although not too, too much has changed since beyond finishing getting those two teeth where they belong, and rotating that lower bicuspid. My midline is also better now, and the bracket was moved on the chipped upper lateral incisor...

Re: DesertCat's Story

Sorry for lack of updates...things were just moving way. Too. Slow. Especially once those two teeth got closer to where they belonged: Mr. Fangy and Mr. NARC (Needs-A-Root-Canal). I'm sure I've got more pictures from that. Found a couple from 2012, but Mr. NARC had already made it onto the wire. Aft...

Re: Will Invisalign work? (pics included)

I was told upfront both Invisalign and ceramics were 'out', and like you I had a misplaced tooth--it looks like one of your bicuspids is sideways in front of another? My upper left canine was in front of the bicuspids, a bit closer to the 2nd than the 1st. I knew Invisalign was out for a few differe...

Re: DesertCat's Story

10th Adjustment (16 months, 3 weeks, and a day 'in'), December 15th 2011: - No change in wire sizes, although did get a new (0.016 round) wire on the bottom! The old one (which had for 13 months...) was so bendy almost went 'back' to 0.014, due to... - Bracket repositioned on the rotated lower left ...

Re: DesertCat's Story

lau -- My 'official' estimate was 24 months, although during the consultation I remember it being 24-30 months. That'd be another 8-14 months. Right now mostly just waiting for that one area to get sorted out...and not really able to do much else in the mean-time as a result. So, no, no talk about ...

Re: DesertCat's Story

9th Adjustment, November 3rd 2011: As a semi-preface... 1) About a week after the last adjustment (Sept 30th) I woke up...with a button hanging loosely on the powerchain. So the button on the front of the 1st bicuspid was replaced, and it got put on a bit further 'over' on the tooth. Can kinda see f...

Re: Sensitivity to glue removal

I have a really sensitive tooth (it needs a root canal, and is sensitive to both cold and hot water/air and pressure, etc.) that had the button it presently has on the front fall off; had to be put back on, and the old glue had to go. It would not tolerate the drill (or whatever, exactly it's called...

Re: Tooth (which needs a root canal) not happy!

londug -- I didn't have much luck, actually, as I went in and the spring somewhat near the definitely painful/sensitive one (not attached to, but attached to one of its buddies and next to the other) got poked, and hello pain. I'm not sure which issue is most like yours (a really unhappy tooth in a...
