Re: Glide Threader Floss
If you end up with a bonded retainer, you will still need the threader floss, so buy the 150 pack if you like the Glide. It can be used on debanded teeth too.

Re: Braces off! How long to adjust to bonded retainer?
Thanks!
I only have a bonded on the bottom and a removable on the top. All the people who have both a bonded and a removable on the bottom are making me nervous now. I need to be careful with what I read. I am going to attempt to trust my ortho. He has done a good job thus far.

Braces off! How long to adjust to bonded retainer?
I got debanded yesterday. I'm happy to have the braces off, though my rearmost molar bands on the bottom teeth had to be cut off. They couldn't get them off the same way as the upper ones and the front two bottom ones. The bonded retainer on the bottom is really irritating my tongue. How long would ...

Re: Just one more day...
Good luck! Take some ibuprofen and don't plan anything crunchy for that first dinner.
I am counting down toward getting mine off, though it is looking like they might be late coming off.

Re: Are your second molars bracketed, banded or naked?
My second molars on the bottom were just banded. I got spacers right before Christmas and new molar bands just after new year. I was originally banded in January of 2010, so the second molars were done partially into treatment. The top second molars are still naked.

My ortho had braces just a few years ago according to my sister. In his generation, parents didn't pay for braces on kids with slightly crooked teeth, and people didn't practice orthodontics on adults much (considered a waste of money). I wouldn't consider his teeth because he couldn't straighten hi...

My orthodontist told me that I would actually have to have two sets of retainers because I am a grinder. He will need to incorporate a night guard, which will make it bulkier into the night time set. Not sure which kind he will use, but I have heard that grinders are really hard on essix style retai...

I have been told that the splint aids in retraining your facial muscles when you have TMJD. If you think about it, the muscles in your face have gotten very used to working from one position. Now you want them to operate the joint in another manner. It takes time and I believe that the splint is par...

I called the orthodontist's office and left a message; hopefully, they will be able to get me new elastics on Monday. The hives have been fading since I took the elastics out. This reaction is most similar to the reactions that I have had to antibiotics. I am allergic to 4 antibiotics; the most rece...

Latex Allergy to Dental Elastics?
I have never had a Latex Allergy in the past, but I got elastics on Wednesday. I got hives on my throat starting this morning. I read that a Latex Allergy manifests within 12-36 hours. I have worn Latex gloves in the past but have never had this long of a continuous exposure. I have hay fever and al...

I'm not sure that anyone notices but yourself when your midline is off. I look at my teeth more than ever with the braces on, but then I don't care about my midline, so my opinion may not be one that you are interested in. Ask him why he can't fix it. It may be something skeletal. Doctors of all var...
