Re: Braces while pregnant
I just had mine off at 19 weeks pregnant. I had originally planned to get them put on just before TTC my first son, but thought better of it not knowing what it was going to feel like or how I was going to take to pregnancy. I was glad I waited only because I was one of those lucky women who puked h...

Re: Teeth Left Out?
I just got my braces off and they never had a bracket on any of my last molars. I even had a bracket fall off of one maybe halfway through and they just anchored the braces to the next tooth in front and left two back molars without a bracket. He said I didn't need it at that point.

Re: Braces removed yesterday and I have a question.
I can't answer you about the gap. I just got mine off a few weeks ago and the only area there is no contact between my teeth is where I had a metal band so I assume that will close up. They didn't say anything to me about not drinking with the retainer in. It would be almost impossible for me to tak...

Full time retainer?!
I was so excited to get my braces off a few weeks ago although I have to say honestly I was a little disappointed that there were still some things I didn't feel straightened out well enough. But the doc said my retainers would still do some movement. What I was not expecting was to find out when I ...

Thanks for sharing. Salt water rinses sound like a very good idea. Other than that I guess it seems like it will be very individual in how I adjust to it. Unfortunately, I'm on an extremely limited diet of less than a dozen foods already and because I'm breastfeeding I have to make sure I eat enough...

When did you get used to the expander?
I just had my palate expander put in today and while I was not expecting it to be pleasant it was not what I was expecting at all. Really my main fear was that my speech would be awful. It's bad, but not as bad as I feared. But I was totally unprepared for the inability to swallow properly, especial...

I swish with water when I'm out, but I also tend to hide my mouth when I'm around other people and eating because even with the water I'll look in a mirror later and see there was stuff I missed. It seems like the ceramic uppers get little dark pieces of food stuck in them that are more noticable th...

Worse before it gets better?
Hello all, I'm pretty new to these boards. I have had my braces on now for about 6 weeks. My teeth are already moving which I was amazed at, but in some ways they look worse than they did before. My two top front teeth are a bit larger than the rest and come down well over my bottom teeth, but now t...

I've only had my braces for about 5 weeks, but I'm horrible at keeping up with proper cleaning. It seems to take forever to get them cleaned well especially when I floss as well so sometimes with a toddler running around I keep putting it off until it's late and I realize I only brushed my teeth onc...

I know I signed a contract that somewhat protects them from being sued for this sort of thing. It basically stated something along the lines of not always being able to achieve optimal results. But if your teeth are worse than when you began I imagine you may have some recourse. Legally though if yo...

I've only had my braces for about a month and so far one bracket has popped off twice. It was from a tooth that is crowned and my ortho told me that sometimes the glue does not adhere as well to crowns so it wasn't a total surprise. They put in spacers and will be doing a metal band around that toot...
