Re: Gap reappeared days after braces removed
I'm surprised you are only wearing your retainers at night. Usually orthos have you wear them 24/7 for 6-12 months after debracing. The fact that the gap closes when you are wearing your retainer and opens when you are not suggests that you need to wear your retainer more. I'd call the ortho and le...

Gap reappeared days after braces removed
I had my braces off last Thursday (20-01-11) and was given clear essix retainers. I've been wearing them as instructed, every night. But tonight I noticed my extraction gap had come a little open (I've attached a photo - the gap is on the left between 2 molars). When I take my retainers out in the m...

Re: January Debrace Club
ALL GONE Can still feel glue on them though! Felt so weird after, and having them taken off was actually pretty painful!

Re: Can a few hours without elastics make a difference?
I posted a similar question about a week ago. I was wearing my elastics most of the time except when eating, brushing & flossing which for me was a significant part of the day when I included bfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, etc. I'd wake in the AM feeling a tightness to my teeth (a sign that some...

Can a few hours without elastics make a difference?
I wear L-shaped elastics going from my top right canine, to my top right molar, down to my bottom right molar, to shut an extraction gap. The gap is pretty much shut and there's about half a mm left (debond next time :D). I wear them religiously (and actually double them up for twice the power!) to ...

Elastics whilst eating, and bite turbos?
I have two issues/questions here. First of all, I got elastics at the orthodontist just over 2 weeks ago. I asked him "do I take them out when I eat" and he said "ooh no, just when you clean your teeth". However, if I attempt to eat with them in, they just come unhooked, or snap ...

Well that was the original plan a few years ago, the prediction my regular dentist had made, and in fact yesterday he told me he'd rather had taken the tooth out before (originally I was to have 4 - the same tooth on each side, top and bottom). But I went to the orthodontist and this was lowered to ...

Pain after extraction - teeth next to site?
I had an extraction yesterday (28-04-10) and since it was a baby tooth it went fine. However now the two teeth in front of it (the tooth was a molar) i.e. the premolar and canine hurt... is this normal? Yesterday the premolar felt almost wobbly... even though this is an adult tooth. Is this normal?

Boots Experts brand actually have an orthodontic range, including and orthodontic mouthwash. I'm not sure whether they are any different to their usual stuff though. I use Original Listerine because I don't like minty stuff as I find it's too sticky. Listerine is also very strong and if you leave it...

NHS - Appointment changes?
I am extremely annoyed at the cnages to my appointments. Not my orthodontist, but my regular dentist. My orthodontist referred me to my dentist to have an extraction - they gave me a letter to send in the post. I actually took it in person on the same day to my dentist. A month later, they still had...
