Before braces I saw the hygienist for a clean every 6 months. This takes about 1/2 hour. Since having braces fitted the hygienist recommends I see her every 3 months. I have dental insurance which covers dental work and hygienist visits so don't have any additional costs to pay for this. They would ...

My ortho charged the same for ceramic as for metal. He's put an assortment of ceramic, clear, and metal on the bottom to get the result he's aiming for, and to stop any damage to the top teeth biting down on the lower braces.

I went for my first dental checkup yesterday since having braces 3 months ago. My dentist was really thrilled about the progress so far and is so pleased that I'd gone ahead and got them after dithering for so long. I saw the hygienist as well and had a good clean. She recommended a different interd...

I have brackets on my molars, no bands, and have to permanently use wax there as they poke so much. :( I only have my top teeth braced so far, lower teeth will be braced mid April so not sure whether they'll have bands or will be the same as the top.

Hi there, I'm 50 and just about to get braced! I've had one premolar extracted this week, and two more to be taken out next week along with a visit to the hygienist for cleaning. I already had one premolar extracted 25 years ago. Then my appointment for braces is March 17th. After waiting so long, m...

First post here! I'm 50 and will be having my braces fitted in 6 weeks time. Before that though I have to have 3 teeth extracted. Wish I had got round to it years ago :(
