Re: Psychological Aspect of Mouth Breathing

My parents would tease me too, about being a mouth breather. Its very sad when you feel like you don't have the support of your own parents. Sometimes I felt even bullied at home, so you have an idea, how extreme the situation was. They would threat me like I was stupid, even though I had good grade...

Re: Psychological Aspect of Mouth Breathing

Mouth breathing is a serious problem. It has many detrimental effects on the development of the brain, respiratory system and nervous system in children. It also causes problems involving infections of the ear, nose, throat and lungs. It’s all around bad practice, makes you look stupid and can actu...

Details: how old were you? ( and skin implications)

Hi all, I wanted to know at what age you did this surgery. My other question is.., in some cases the face gets really swollen. Our skin has some elasticity, so it probably won't show much signs after this.. but what if the person is older, and the skin isn't so "elastic", after the swollen...

Genetics?

Hi all. I have a question about genetics.. In my case, my parents are from the same zone (a rural zone), and so, I suppose they may have common ancestors.. This may sound weird to some people, but I think there may be a connection. Have any of you, with maxilla/mandibular problems, wondered about th...

Re: wish i would have never done this surgery...

Hi Shana. I'm sure you're strong enough to pass this. You really have to be strong. I think that in your case you think there may be a jaw disunion, is that right? I'm sure it's very frustrating, but you have to be strong and take care of you now. Do you know what may have gone wrong in your case? N...

Re: What were your reasons for going through surgery?

What has your "yes" reason been, and if you would like, what are your opinions on my feelings/reasons/worries? Well, in my case, personally I never liked the way my jaw looks. Basically my jaw draws all the attention when someone is looking/talking to me. I'm 25, and I've been thinking ab...

Re: Infections and problems with the screws

The swollen appeared in the 3rd day after the screw was placed. It has been going on for almost 3 months now. Meaning, I have this problem for about 3 months. When the dentist was placing the screw he took x-rays, because he was worried with the tooth nerve's. But the x-ray machine didn't work prope...

Yes we can! Power of will really is the most important in all this journey. Congratulations chicago! You look great! And it takes a lot of courage to decide for this road, I think we're all very, very brave for going through with this. It really requires a strong person. Congratulations chicago. : )

Infections and problems with the screws

Hi all. :) Maybe I should start by saying that english is not my native language. I'm really confused. I have a screw which looks like has some kind of problem, because the gums around it look swollen, about 1cm of area around the screw looks swollen. My face is not swollen - just the area near to t...

Thanks for the replys, I will definitely talk with a oral surgeon I've seen some blogs about the surgery and some cases seemed so much worse than mine.. I almost feel guilty for considering this for aesthetic reasons I forgot to say, and the pictures don't show, but I also have a gummy smile OhioM, ...
