I happened to be waiting at a doctor's office the other day with nothing to read. There sat a recent issue of People magazine with Tiger Wood's ex-wife pictured on the cover. If you take a look at a photo of her within that story, you will see teeth with attachments! She must be using Invisalign bec...

I hate to discourage you, but it really is not a good idea to drink ANYTHING other than water while wearing your aligners. After you get used to this very first tray, it will be much easier to remove your trays, and then you can do so and enjoy whatever you wish to eat or drink. Then clean your teet...

Congratulations! Your teeth look fabulous! By the way, my daughter's ortho told her she needed to wear her retainers full time for at least three months, but 1 1/2 months into it told me that he starts with that estimate because he wants to increase compliance. At 1 1/2 months, she went to nighttime...

These sorts of problems are SO MUCH easier to fix when a patient is younger. If left alone, other issues can arise, and it is doubtful that the problems you describe will fix themselves. It can be quite a ride, but I had teeth pulled as an early teen and headgear and braces, etc. and I am so very gr...

Sounds like you are off to a great start! Congratulations! I do think insertion - and especially removal - is more difficult with attachments, but you will get used to it very quickly. Some people have used a small crochet hook or a tweezers to aid in removal. I have had seven attachments (5U/2L) an...

Mine is a rather simple case, and my ortho told me to expect 10-14 months of treatment. I am rounding the corner toward refinements (I am almost 6 months into treatment). I think it is VERY difficult to estimate how long treatment will truly be before things get started (and even as they progress). ...

YAY for you!!!!! I will be getting the rest of my attachments off for refinements in one week, so I really do understand your excitement! Invisalign is a great system, but it requires a lot of discipline. To have a break from the grind is such a treat, eh?! Enjoy snacking and grazing again (and don'...

This happened to me, too, and I am in Invisalign right now to correct the overlap. It really depends upon how severe the overlap is as to what treatment will be best. My daughter has had a minor overlap on the lower arch corrected with a retainer, so it is possible. I suggest a few consults with ort...

Hmm... I know with Invisalign Express, there are no refinements included, but Full Invisalign includes three series of refinements. I suspect that varies from country to country, though, so maybe it is best to look at your contract with the ortho or give the office a call to clarify what is included...

If your tooth is still pretty far off this late in your sets of trays, it is likely that you will need refinements. I have had similar movements needed and am on my second to last tray. All looks good and there has been a lot of movement - but it is not yet perfect. I fully plan to have refinements....

I know SO many people who have only the bonded retainer such as you have. They've had them for years (in some cases decades) and have had no relapse at all. I have also heard of some people who have both bonded and removable retainers. The bonded retainers were to hold the front teeth in place and t...

Some people require refinements after the first set of trays. The 20 week prediction is a good estimate of treatment time; however, if you need refinements or a mid-course correction, your total treatment time will be longer than 20 weeks. That being said, I am coming to the end of my 7L/12U initial...

From my understanding, chewing can facilitate tooth movement, so maybe your ortho doesn't want your teeth to have too much exercise until the retainers are ready. I don;t think you should eat while wearing your retainer - and I suspect you won't want to either! I am currently in Invisalign, and the ...
