My wires seem too far into the holes to pop out, which is good. A few times they've poked out the opposite end and that HURTS like needles...I found a tiny pair of snips that I use to clip them down myself. (I know its bad but I can't handle those wire ends!)

I paid $385 to have a lower front (#25) tooth extracted this past Tuesday. It was a little difficult because it was crowded. I had novocaine and laughing gas, but I can tell you it was not a very pleasant experience. I hear ya! I had novacaine and that's it...could have used the laughing gas becaus...

Question about my son

My son will be 8 this July. He only has ONE permanent tooth so far!!! Here's the thing...in kindergarten he got a tooth knocked so we took him to the dentist. They xrayed him and he was fine although they found he has an extra tooth up inside his top gums. The dentist kinda gave a run around and sen...

Keep in mind the skill of the doc needs to be taken into acct. Trust me not every doc can do a surgical ext in 5 minutes. I once watched my oral surgeon take out 4 wisdom teeth and place an implant in about 20 minutes. I couldnt even get one tooth out in 20 minutes. One of my buddies routinely take...

My "difficult" extraction took like five minutes each! So I'm like, what, the 5 minute ones cost $200 more than a 30 second one? Huh? I like my ortho but did I mention my husband and I can't stand the dentists there and want to find a new practice. They are very pushy and they never agree ...

Curious about "simple" vs "surgical" ext

Just curious about this...before I got my extractions (last year) they told me that simple ones were about $75 or so but that surgical ones were like $250. So I assumed surgical is if they cut. Well they pulled them...they did not have to cut but they had a hard time pulling them and it took ALOT of...

Go for it! You can even do ceramic uppers if you don't like the metal look....I have waited a long time for mine (I'm 35) and am so happy to finally be doing this.

I think I was supposed to, yeah, get a cleaning and a "once over" before getting the braces on, and then a cleaning every 6 months during braces.

Some of it, I think, just depends on how well your teeth move and also how often you go for adjustments. I go every three weeks and don't miss an appointment so we'll see!

Wow....I don't know if I have it or not, the ortho never really mentioned it although they had trouble keeping my tongue back when they were putting on my brackets. haha. I feel like I have a big tongue but then I think my jaws are a little too small for my mouth. Mine isn't as bad as others here bu...
