30 month update

Oh my, looking at my photos from my last post Ican suddenly see how far I've come! I'm still braced up, surgery hopefully later in year, just waiting on a tiny 0.6mm gap to close before I get my surgery consultation. My teeth are lovely and straight, but, as I had been warned at my initial ortho con...

Broken Molar Band

I had to have a broken molar band fixed this week! My crossbite has caused my bottom molars on my right to hit the tubes on the top right molar band since day one, and I guess over time it had weakened the band. The Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead has a brilliant Ortho department, and I wa...

I have metal brackets with ligs and didn't have the choice of anything else. But then again my treatment is part of necessary jaw surgery so I'm being treated under the NHS (I'm in the UK). People in the UK are lucky like that!

Well done for taking the plunge! I've been braced for 12 weeks and I too struggled for the first few weeks, especially as it was Christmas and New Year! Ulcers the size of coins, couldn't eat, felt grumpy as hell. But it all settled down quickly. Ortho wax will be your new best friend (I got through...

Me and my Wonky Gob

I am 38 years old and I'm having orthodontic work done in preparation for upper and lower jaw surgery to correct a crossbite and underbite. I won't bother going into too much background info but basically I had jaw pain and wonky teeth and the orthodontics and surgery combo are the answer! Have had ...

Hello from a Newbie :)

Hi there, I am 38 and am having orthodontics in preparation for double jaw surgery to fix a crossbite and underbite. I don't have any set dates yet although I was originally told 18 months. I am already 12 weeks into my orthodontics and my top teeth are pretty much in place which is encouraging! In ...
