I am super happy with the results. Smile really came into place after the braces were off. REally hard to tell what the "true" smile will look like until the braces come off. I have a "pretty" smile now.

i scheduled 3 appts in 1 day for the following:

1. appt for ortho to remove the wires top and bottom.
2. appt to clean teeth by dentist. (removing the wires makes it much easier and better for the dentist to clean your teeth.)
3. appt to go back to the ortho to put the wires back in .

$5600 /Virginia/braced for two years/metal/

between getting consulations and actually going thru with the braces: 11 months.

Got elastics at 6 months. The elastics were not too bad. I had not problem eating with them nor did they bother me. NOw if you yawn , you may notice them. My problem with elastics was remembering to take them out or put them back in when i has to wear them 10 hours a day .

This 2 years years went by so fast. I am so excited.

Just wondering if anyone saw any changes in face and or lips after debanding. Did your smile look different after braces came off? When I take pics even tho I am real close to debanding, the braces seem to mask what my smile really will look like .

I grind my teeth at night. I will need a night guard after braces are off. Will I be able to do that and wear a retainer? Or will my night guard be my retainer at night?

It appears my cheekbones are more prominent and slightly sunkin in. I had no extractions and had deep overbite. I have not lost any weight.


Will that honestly go away after braces, or is the treatment altering my face permanately?

I am in 14 months into braces. After my last adjustment, immediately my side/back molars don't touch at all now. It seems that my bottom front teeth are hitting the back of top front. I know the ortho is still working on the the very last molars on both upper and bottom. I guess this is normal?
