Re: elastics rubbing on side of lips- help!

Could be Chelitis due to the bands changing the shape of your lips. You may have saliva trapped in the corners allowing for bacteria to grow.

Re: 6 Month Pictures

I'm not sure if it's normal or not, but my front teeth were looser than the Ortho wanted when I went in for an adjustment. He checked them by Xray at my next few visits and they are fine now. So, maybe depending on how far the tooth has to move, it could be normal.

Re: Saying hello - 31 in braces!

Welcome and good luck! I was braced at 35 and haven't looked back. I am missing a canine on the bottom and my ortho felt that once my teeth were aligned, it wouldn't be noticeable. So far, he's correct. *I* know, but no one else notices.

Re: When in treatment did you get rubber bands?

I just got mine today and I'm 48 weeks in. I'm wearing them in a triangle on both sides. My ortho's original estimate was 18 to 36 months.

I dream of a day when........

I can eat corn on the cob without cutting it off, and eating steak without having to cut it into itty bitty little pieces. Not complaining..... just dreaming. :)

AAARGH! It figures!

My back wire just popped out and my ortho office closed an hour ago! When else would it happen?! Would you just try and thread it back in, or tuck it under the bracket so it's not poking me? They won't be in the office untill Tuesday. I'm not in pain, and it's the last tooth. Would you suggest I jus...

I've eaten the regular stuff too, just very carefully. The hulless is basically just a popcorn flavored cheeto.

Do tell me if I have a forrest in my teeth.
Don't ask to look at my teeth every day.

Don't ask me, if you see me on a regular basis, if I got braces. My answer is going to be "no."

I would run it by your Ortho first. It could interfere with you treatment.

I have Cigna DMO and they pay $2100 of my treatment. My part will be $2900 spread out in $100 payments after the $500 records fee. Cigna is paying a little to the ortho each month.
