Grev, I finally gave up last night and ate a cheeseburger. It's been a little over a week since my braces and 6 days since all four of my premolars were pulled. It was difficult because the extraction sites feel weird since you've never really felt anything there before, but it was doable. (And real...

My first Cheesburger with a side of Braces.
I've HAD IT! One week without normal food is more than anyone should have to deal with. So I promptly went out and bought a cheesburger and fries for dinner. HA! I must say that between the braces last Wednesday and the extractions last Friday I've just been really nervous about putting a...

Hi leahmb, I'm gald to hear that your extractions are healing well. I think mine are too though they are still bothing me sometimes. I also notice that I can't hold water in my mouth as well anymore. I think I feel what you feel with the teeth that used to be squished. I keep pushing on one o...

jensceana73 how terrible! I hope you got it taken care of before the BIG day! I hear that if you go into the dentist what he does relieves the pain almost immediately. Though I have been fortunate (knock on wood :gavel: ) to have 18 teeth pulled over the years and to not have gotten dry socket yet....

Last night I was minding my own business reading a book when suddenly there was a terrible taste in my mouth.... one of my extraction site (and not the one I was complaining about early) started to bleed. :yikes: For no reason! I put in some gauze and slept in in last night so hopefully that took c...

Hey Jensceana, I have my hubby take my pictures for me and he does a pretty good job. I haven't posted any yet because I felt so awful last weekend from the extractions. (Just really tired and whatnot). Also about the bitting thing. I also cannot bite anything either. My teeth that are wired are so...

Extractions
I had my four teeth extracted on Friday. :soremouth: I of course worked myself up more than I should have and I was all upset about it. But all four were pulled in 7 minutes and I had no pain afterward. They gave me some pain meds but I've taken nothing but ibuprofen. :-9 I am starting to have a bo...

Well today's the day. Four perfectly healthy teeth are going to be pulled in just under four hours and I'm scared to death even though this will amount to teeth nos. 15-18 for me being pulled. I had a lot pulled as a kid and I don't remember it being all that bad, but that doesn't stop me from frett...

Thanks leahmb. I saw one story that said only one of them made noise so that would be good. I'm going to take my iPod so that even if they do make noise hopefully I won't hear it. :D Good luck to you getting your braces too. Actaully getting them put on was not problem. I'm in some pain now but noth...

Flossing
One of the assistant's at my ortho's office game me Crest glide threader floss (here: http://www.glidefloss.com/your-glide-match-threader-floss.php) If I'm allowed to post the page. Anyway it has a hard end like a shoelace almost and that way you don't need to use a threader. It's much quicker to s...

Extractions
Tomorrow I go for four extractions of permanent adult teeth. I believe they are called pre-molars. The ortho calls them fours (based on the numbering chart) and I know they are numbered differently for the dentist. I'm wondering how many people have had adult extractions and what it's like. I've re...

Braced
Brace Day was not as bad as I feared. Nothing at the appointment hurt at all. The cheek spreaders they used in order to take photos were a little uncomfortable but didn't really take all that long. I got to the ortho’s office and they took me right in, actually early too, which was great since I wa...
