I've lost about 10 pounds total over the course of 13 trays. I did not need to lose any weight though and I don't like the way that I look being 10 pounds underweight. It's just impossible to get the calories that I need without wrecking my Invisalign treatment. I can't wait to be done so that I can...

This is one topic that I wish my dentist would have discussed with me before I chose to get Invisalign. I struggled with not being able to eat as much as I need to for a while before I figured it all out. Don't get me wrong, it's still not easy to do and I am still hungry all of the time but I've ju...

23 hours is pretty much impossible unless you plan on starving yourself and skipping out on brushing and flossing a lot. 22 hours is borderline impossible for me but I do my best to stick to it. I probably come in somewhere between 21 and 22 hours most days. I slip up occasionally if I'm out to eat ...

I've noticed that I also don't feel any real pain while my aligners are on yet when they are off I feel it. Especially if it's the first week of a new tray. Even when I first put a new tray in I still don't feel any pain except for when I'm actually putting it on or taking it off. If you don't have ...

The bubble gap between the aligners and the teeth has been there for every one of my trays so far. I'm on #6. It bothered me a first and I wondered if something was wrong, but my teeth have really gotten straighter in just 6 trays so I don't think that it's affecting the treatment. Maybe it's normal...

Getting treated by my dentist in Chicago, Illinois. Original price was $4800 but my dentist knocked off $1000 since my insurance refused to help out because of my age. He's a good guy and I've been going to him for years. So, I ended up paying $3800 total. I put it all on my credit card up front so ...

You'll notice that when you drink liquids with your aligners in, whatever it is that you're drinking gets inside of the aligners no matter how hard you try. If it's anything but a clear liquid, it will be noticeable. I do drink beer and white wine sometimes with my aligners in but I swish with water...

Nearing the end of my 4th set of aligners now and two of the gaps have suddenly closed up quite a bit! I guess that shows that it takes more than just the first week to really move the teeth to the shape of a new tray because the spaces did not fill in during the first week of tray #4 but they did n...

Yeah, around day 12 of any aligner feels like nothing is even going on with your teeth, even with attachments. I start getting anxious to put a new tray in around day 12 but I guess you need that easy time to let your teeth adjust to their new position for a while before moving them again. Tray #4 w...

I've taken a bottle of water and some floss along with me a couple of times for things like this. I poured some water over the trays when I took them out. It doesn't get them completely clean but it's better than not being able to rinse them off at all. I floss a little bit when I think that no one ...

Yeah he gave me 3 sets of trays to take home on my last visit so he did a lot of filing for those in advance I think. Actually, just this morning I did notice when flossing that one of the spaces up front felt a little tighter with the floss so maybe it's starting to close up a bit finally. You're r...

Are these IPR/filed spaces ever going to fill in and when?

I'm on my 4th set of trays and so far my dentist has filed (IPR) 6 spaces between my teeth. 4 of the spaces were made on my front teeth on the top and I look a bit like a bum with these gaps between my teeth. They are noticeable. At least I think so. I've had to go in 4 times, once for each new tray...

I started out taking Advil when I put new trays in because I was told to. But honestly, the last set of trays that I put in, I didn't take anything at all. I put them in and had planned on going to buy some Advil in the morning but the pain really wasn't bad enough so I just dealt with it for a day ...

I've got 7 attachments and they were all put on with my very first tray so I don't know how much more difficult it will be for you when you get them on versus not having them on. But I can remember trying to figure out the best way to get them off when I had my first tray on and it took a few differ...

The roof of my mouth never got sore, no but I can see how you would feel that since Invisalign starts moving your molars and your arch right away. My aligners do cover up my gums on the back side a bit but not really on the front. In fact, they don't even reach the gum line on the front side but the...
