They said my wire was still active, so they didn't change anything!!!!

I clench at night now. I had worn a night guard for 3 years prior to braces, and had forgotten all about this. I have been clenching, and I know, because I wake up every 2 hours or so, having clenched. I hope this passes!

I had 2 sensitive teeth prior to braces. They had both been investigated, and x-rays did not reveal a problem. I was sent away with some fluoride varnish. Well, the past few days, one of them has been acting up *bigtime.* Cold makes it throb, hot makes it throb. I've read of sensitivity during brace...

I didn't have molds taken, because my ortho has a 3D x-ray machine (even better than the panoramic x-ray). I wouldn't worry.

Yes to the Waterpik!!! :jump: But absolutely keep flossing. After about 8-9 days being braced, I have tried all kinds of flossing devices. K.I.S.S. The floss with the threading end on it already (Crest Glide Floss) is my fav. It does take longer, but you can definitely wrap the floss around your tee...

tsmurfenator, glad to hear I'm not the only one who has a long list of questions. I'm sure they consider me "high maintenance" but..... I have questions!

amy, it is your money, it wouldn't hurt to: bring this up with the actual ortho, and look around. Couldn't hurt anything, right?

Is pain in your jaw joint common after getting braces put on? I'm about 5 days past getting braced and woke up this morning...very painful to open my mouth. I didn't have TMD before I started. Someone reassure me this isn't too unusual???

Frenectomies are not in my future, but I am curious. Having a frenectomy is supposed to solve what problem? Like what does that flap of skin affect??
