Hey, I think it's just down to having not used the muscle for a while. I'm three weeks post op now. I can eat solid foods like a piece of chocolate, but anything soft like bread, I can't break up; it just ends up being squashed flat. I read somewhere that it's a good idea to exercise the jaw muscles...

I should also mention that while fluoride helps strengthen teeth, too much of it can cause problems! So if your mouthwash is fluoride too, you might want to try and balance the amount of fluoride your throwing in ur mouth! Again check wit dentist for confirmation.

I do have gum swelling behind the back molar also - it's swollen so much that the gum has consumed the brace anchor attached to the tooth and is almost breaching the top of the tooth itself.
