I think its up to the individual surgeon to be honest. I had mine done before i had the braces put on 2 years ago but i do rmember my surgeon saying he didnt mind when as long as there was a 6 month gap between extraction and jaw surgery.

No not everyone will have it. Its purely aesthetic. When your teeth come through as a 7 year old they have a serated edge, because my teeth have never touched and aren't used to bite off food my serated edges have never worn so the ortho filed them down so they are now straight.
