I'm finished!!

I've been lurking and very occasionally posting here for the last two and a half years while I went though my braces journey. It has been so helpful to read the stories and advice from other adults with braces. So I wanted to share my pictures. I got my braces off a couple weeks ago and I am beyond ...

I find that I need wax whenever I have any kind of shift in my teeth. New spots start to rub and hurt. I use wax there for a day or two and it is fine until the next shift.

I don't see any reason to suffer needlessly though. If it hurts, do something about it.

I've got very good dental insurance through my job. It pays $3000 lifetime cap for ortho for each person on my plan with no age limits or deductables. My total cost of treatment is around $3,996 and so I am paying the remainder off over the next ten months. I should be in braces for 24 to 26 months.

I'm 30 and I just got mine about a month ago. Growing up, my parents asked me once if I wanted them. I declined because I was being bullied at school and I didn't want to give the bullies any more fodder. My parents never asked me again. Now that I am all grown up, I learned that my dental insurance...

I keep poking at the tiny middle center tooth i have on the bottom. It stands taller than the rest of my teeth (it used to sit more to the side) now and is loose and so first thing in the morning it makes crackly noises. Worried me at first but now I figure that it is just doing what it is supposed ...

I brush morning, noon (after lunch) and nighttime before bed. In between those times I swish with water or mouthwash and use the little fuzzy brush thing to clean my brackets. I'm debating on investing in a sonicare but I can't quite bring myself to spend that kind of money when I already get good r...

Serious pain in just one tooth

I've had my top and bottom metal braces for near a month now and have already seen some progress. Most of the initial pain is gone and the inside of my mouth has adjusted and is no longer irritated by the braces. The other day, I noticed a lot of pain in one tooth. I don't know the proper name but t...

Hi *waves*

New here although I have been lurking since I got my braces put on March 23rd. Here I am almost a month in and I already see progress. I've just got plain old basic metal brackets with sparkly blue ligs. Top and bottom were done at the same time. I have some mild crowding on the bottom with an overb...

Newbie here.

I haven't had my braces for very long but I've already learned that I can't bite my fingernails anymore.

I adore those little brush thingies for poking around my brackets to dislodge food.

Broccoli is incredibly difficult to remove. Spinach is nearly impossible.
