Off Topic-OMG smithie you look so stubbly!!!

I'm 31, and I'm in for a 1-1.5 year sentence. I live in a place where not many pple, including children, have braces. I was quite self concious at first, but after 3 months, I smile more that I did before, and I'm quite enjoying the experience.

I wouldn't mind, figure guys would have more of a reason to be scared...more contact with teeth etc...

Don't say "But there was nothing wrong with your teeth"

Do let me know when i have food stuck in my braces.

Do ask me for info on my experience to use when your kids get braced

I hadn't seen my dentist in 4 weeks; apparently she's been very busy; frequently goes out of town. But it's ok, my teeth are coming along nicely. It's been 2 months, and I can see a huge difference. Congratulations on your decision! Ugh, spacers! My experience with them was the worst I've had on my brace journey so far. Now when I have an appointment I make sure I'm well medicated!

I agree with Ken. Plus it's better to have pple comment about your teeth in braces than always be smiling and wondering whether what pple are thinking about your teeth! Whater pple say, it's good that you are making an investment in yourself! You can always come here to AW to see other pple's storie...

So...I've been braced for a little over three weeks now. I am getting accustomed to the feeling of the extra metal in my mouth. I hardly notice them now. I am being pretty diligent about cleaning: I eat 5 meals a day, and I brush and rinse after each meal, in addition to when I wake and before bed....

Congratulations on your decision! You won't regret it, the end result will be so worth it.
