hi beth i'm also having surgery to correct underbite ,the wait to get on the nhs seemed like forever but i do have my lower braces on now
so it does feel like i'm progressing, hope to have surgery sometime next year.

1. Where are you located? united kingdom
2. How much are you paying for your braces? free on the nhs for both braces and jaw surgery but waited about 1 year for treatment to begin .
3. What kind of braces do you have? all metal and quad helix
4. What is your estimated time in braces? 2-3 years

same here i'm trying to get on the nhs, it's been 3months since my consultation with a private/nhs surgeon yet i've not even heard a whisper from the nhs yet, it's quite depressing :cry: .

has anyone experienced this with their ortho or surgeon?. this is what happened with me today at my 1st consultation with the oral surgeon. I have a classIII underbite and narrow upper jaw/palette so i had the idea in my mind that i would need lower jaw surgery and sarpe to fix my bite problems. dur...

i was given the choice of having braces privately and surgery on the nhs. i'm with a private dentist and she is refering me to her oral surgeon who does both nhs&private.
