Re: Has anyone had this problem?

An other option would be to change your orthodontist if you are unhappy. I was in a similar situation where my teeth movement was taking much longer than i was originally told and my surgery date kept getting pushed. I finally decided to change my ortho to an other one even though i had to drive a m...

Re: Upper jaw surgery after lower jaw surgery

My upper jaw has a slight slant at the front. My bite given the jaw positions has no room for improvement. I can see needing braces post surgery to adjust the bite.

Does anyone know of a surgeon in the NY area who would do surgery without insurance at lower cost?

Re: Need to hve my surgery asap

It usually takes a while for your surgeon to give you a surgery date once you are all set for surgery. You will have multiple appointments with your surgeon before surgery(at least 2). Also, note that you are not just asking for the surgeon's time. The hospital will have to book your operation room ...

Upper jaw surgery after lower jaw surgery

I had lower jaw surgery earlier this year. My orthodontist and surgeon had suggested both upper and lower jaw surgery though the main problem was my lower jaw. My lower jaw needed to be moved forward by about 8 mm. My upper jaw is slanted downwards. I ended up getting just lower jaw surgery since i ...

Lingual Braces and Jaw Surgery

I currently have Lingual Braces and very close to been ready for lower jaw surgery. According to my orthodontist, he would put surgical hooks before surgery and remove them sometime after surgery and continue with lingual braces after that. My jaw surgeon(a famous one) at Boston Medical said that he...

How long with braces before surgery

Every case is different. I have had braces since April of 2009 and my orthodontist thinks i will be ready for surgery in September. But the thing is that once the orthodontist gives the go ahead , it takes at least 2-5 months before you can have the actual surgery performed since you need approval f...

sliding genioplasty

I had sliding genioplasty done a long time ago and the result was good. I remember having numbness for a long time(18 months or so) after the surgery but i have absolutely no numbness anymore. The feeling in your lips usually returns gradually and over a long period of time, so you will have to be p...

Cost and before/after x-rays/pics

Can i know how much it cost in total for your jaw surgery? Like i mentioned before, i will have to pay for this out of pocket and am a little concerned about the total cost of surgery. I saw a surgeon in the Mass General Hospital in Boston, and the cost estimate they gave me was 4 times the estimate...
