I have only had my braces on for a week but was told I will need a trans palatal arch and elestics. Just curious...at what point in the treatment should I expect the elastics? The ortho said to expect to have the braces for 26 months so are the elastics usually in the later part of treatment?

So one week later and my speech seems to be getting worse. I now talk like i have a mouth full of M&M's (or metal). I have upper bands with hooks on the inside. Yes I heard that too about the indentation...I also heard it is near impossible to pronouce S's and K's without drooling or spitting on those nearest you.

Well I finally decided to get braces at 37 and I am very excited for the outcome. I have ceramic uppers and metal on bottom. I'm also getting a TPA appliance soon and I heard horrible things about them. Has anyone had one and what can I expect?
