Re: feeling down
I'm 4 weeks post op with underbite surgery. Had some post-op blues, but that's easily changed with the way of thinking. I also have a 20% overbite and that should be fixed by orthodontics. I just got the stomach flu yesterday from eating something bad or just too many burritos. I love food and that ...

Re: Does everyone here have Blue Cross and Blue Shield?
It really depends on your insurance. Fortunately for me, the hospital was in-network, but the doctor wasn't. Since the hospital bill was much higher, it turned out for the better. Really go into your benefit brochure and read your in/out of network benefits. Good luck!

Re: Does everyone here have Blue Cross and Blue Shield?
I have federal blue cross basic and they paid about 2200 out of 7800 for out of network doctor. They approved the surgery and out of network exception since they are no IN-Network doctors that perform this surgery...naturally. However, I only had to pay 500 for a $12,500 hospital bill so that's not ...

Re: 'split' lower jaw, remove bone each side and move back?
My surgeon tells me that he is going to 'split' my lower jaw (from underneath the bottom lip), and then remove bone each side of the jaw, then reposition the jaw so that its moved back. Then I can bite normally (and not have an underbite!) Has anyone else who had lower jaw surgery had a similar pro...

Re: November Buddies
6 weeks post op now. Do any of you all still feel like you have something stuck in your mouth where your incisions are? I'm not sure if it is scar tissue or what, but will this feeling go away? I have this feeling at the top of my upper jaw (where the incisions are for the Lefort 1) and at the bott...

Re: November Buddies
Feeling a lot better today. 14 days post ops. I'm eating blended campbells chunky religiously. My favorite is a Mcdonald's Yogurt Parfait blended with milk for dessert. I drink about 2 of those a day.

Re: Schedule for loosening bands?
That is odd. I had my lower jaw set back on Nov 29. I went to get xrays at the office on the Nov 30. I've already been back for two check ups since the 30th and another one on 12/17. I'm still wearing bands for 20 hours a day. I really really want to eat a Five Guys Burger.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Anyone have some popping/crackling ? I have slight popping/crackling on the right side of my jaw. Hopefully this is not a long term problem.

Re: November Buddies
Good afternoon all, Swelling has gone done tremendously 5 days post off. The bands were loosened barely yesterday after my visit at the office. I'm still pretty much shut and continuing to take in liquids. Does anyone get really sore teeth during the day? I'm still sleeping upright and its making my...
