Re: Question about positioner wear
Google "USAF SERE." During a certain phase of this training I'm not allowed to have anything in my possession.

Question about positioner wear
I just got debraced on the fourth and am now using a positioner. Its sort of like a retainer except that it's still doing work to move my teeth into an ideal position. In a couple of weeks I have to participate in a military exercise in which I may not be able to wear my positioner for 3-5 days (inc...

I bought a Sonicare Flexcare about a week after getting braced. It makes brushing 10x easier and I feel like it leaves my teeth a LOT cleaner too. The way I see it - if you're paying 5G's for the metal might as well go in an extra $150 for something that'll keep your teeth that much nicer during the...

Waterpik, Electric Brush, Mouthwash. I only floss on Sundays to be honest. Kinda figured the Waterpik was taking care of most of the stuff that managed to get under my gums. Am I wrong to assume this? I just hate flossing. Takes a while. Always afraid I'm going mess up my hardware somehow. And somet...

This is why I love this message board: its a place where I can at least relate to other people with the same problems. I got over the initial embarrassment after a few days and I still walk tall and socialize without holding back my braces, but I've kinda come to accept that there's not going to be ...

I have turbos on my front bottom molars on each side to prevent my brackets from touching when I bite down. I was in the same boat. I couldn't chew or eat any for a week and a half. Partially from the soreness and partially because I was getting used to only having only two points of contact in my e...

He's a medical professional. It's part of his job to answer any questions you may have. You're paying LOTS of money for his expertise - answering a simple question is the least he can do. My ortho actually has a progress bar that shows up when they pull your up your record. It says time remaining : ...

Weight-loss is going to happen. I do a lot of weight lifting and I used to eat a lot on a very strict diet... up until last thursday. I'm only in the first week and eating is still a challenge for me. Chicken still isn't happening yet but I am doing a lot of: Eggs Oatmeal Fat free cottage cheese and...

I was feeling the same way after I had mine put on (Jul 1). The clears look so small and nice and clean on the model they show you but it's a whole different story when you're actually wearing them. I just had to keep reminding myself that being embarrassed about having braces was better than a life...

I had my heart set on invisalign. I'm sure almost all adults considering treatment go in wanting invisalign... But the doc said it would take at least twice as long as braces and the result wouldn't be as good. 6-8 mo in braces v. 2 yrs in invisalign. I also had doubts about how well my self-discipl...

Hey vicco I actually just started this same treatment yesterday. Damon Q's with clear top 6. Suresmile wire (soon). Yesterday: First they put on my brackets. Then they did the suresmile scan which consists of the technician waving a wand around in your mouth for about 30 minutes. It was pretty cool ...
