Early on in my treatment the wire popped out of a molar band bracket and a ligature came off of the molar infront. I carefully put it all back together in about ten minutes. Didn't tell my ortho and hasn't happened since so all's good.

My diet hasn't changed at all because of braces. My lower archwire bent and popped off a few ligs one time when I was eating big chunks of chocolate but I DIY-reassembled itand had no other problems since. I chew gum after a meal if I can't clean my teeth.

I was given elastics to correct my overbite/jet at the last appointment which was 5 months into an 18 month treatment time. I haven't asked how long I'll have to wear them but I guess it'll be 6+ months. They are an off white colour and no alternative was offered. They don't effect speech at all and...

Maybe if you have slow moving teeth they need attending to more frequently to speed things up.

I had my first adjustment yesterday. Only the ligs were changed which I wasn't over the moon about but I've woke up this morning to be greeted by the most rapid movements to date in the mirror.

I have two up two down. The uppers are linked with something akin to an expander and I might have them on the lowers for my deep bite. I'd like to know how they plan on removing them... can they melt the glue/concrete stuff?.

I felt the same way when they booked my first adjustment for 8 weeks time, but sitting here now with my appointment only a week away I'm not in the least bit concerned... my teeth are still moving as fast as ever and the pain is increasing (a good sign?).
